My Experience with e.l.f. Wine Tour Moisturizing Lipstick:

Well, when it comes to lipsticks I am more of a matte lipstick person and would always prefer matte anytime over satin finish or creamy lipsticks. But if someone gets me a satin finish lipstick from abroad I can’t help but accept it. I don’t think e.l.f. is available in India but it is very much popular in other countries for the price tag of their products.

I always wanted to have a wine shade of lipstick for myself and got this one as a gift. I’d searched a few shades on a beauty e-commerce website earlier and liked a few wine lip colors. I liked this one too, but there are a few things about this lipstick which have disappointed me.

At first when I glided the lipstick, it glided smoothly and there was a good colour payoff in one swipe. However, the shade appeared a little lighter with one swipe. When I tried the second swipe, it looked perfect. It is a pretty intense shade of purple that looks very vibrant. As the name suggests it does moisturise the lips deeply and my lips feel smooth even after the lipstick gets worn off completely.

This lipstick has a lot of shine and sheen to it. It appears to be a lot glossier after application. My lips look fuller and it adds to the appearance and look of the face. Even though it has a satin finish and a creamy texture, it looks a little patchy after application. It does not smudge a lot but tends to appear patchy on the lips. I feel the distribution of colour/formula doesn’t look even on lips.

Even after swiping the lipstick properly twice it appears to be darker in some areas of the lips and lighter in others. But I am glad it doesn’t bleed as it’s a bright shade of purple. However, I could see that the lipstick moved a little below and above the lip line and on the outer Vs of the lips. It does stay well on the lips but I could notice a little difference after some time of the application.

It does transfer a lot and would wear off completely after having a meal. The staying power is good and it stays for around six hours if I don’t eat anything. When I tried removing the lipstick it did leave a beautiful stain on my lips. The after-effects of the lipstick are good as it leaves a stain on the lips, making them look smooth and soft. It is specially formulated to add moisture to the lips and people with dry lips will love this one as it does the job of a lip balm and a lipstick together.

I quite like the packaging of the lipstick. Even though it is priced decently and it’s quite affordable, the quality of the packaging hasn’t been compromised. It comes in a black plastic case with a coloured band at the bottom. Even though it isn’t color-coded the band provides for an easy access of the lipstick from the makeup stash. The name and code of the lipstick have been labelled at the bottom.

Will I Repurchase/Recommend e.l.f. Wine Tour Moisturizing Lipstick?
I may not repurchase this as I would any time prefer a matte lipstick to a satin finish lipstick. I do recommend this to people who face the issue of dry lips. This one is apt for them and there are many other beautiful shades to choose from in this range.
