Smashbox Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick range comprises of 20 beautiful shades. They come in black cardboard boxes with labels and color co-ordination with respective shades. Even the shade name has only been mentioned at the bottom of the box. To save on customs, at times, I have to settle with products minus the packaging because imported cosmetics get really expensive here.
The product holds in a clear, square tube with a leaf shaped doe-foot applicator. Leaf or tear-drop shaped applicators are gaining popularity among users nowadays because the pointed tip and broad base makes application easier both ways. The uniqueness resides in the little doughnut-shaped well in the middle of applicator to pull the liquid from the tube. Overall, the packaging is sleek and travel friendly.
Gone are the days when matte liquid lipsticks symbolised dry lips – the formula has evolved now. Smashbox Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick has a revolutionary comfortable matte formula to wear for extended hours. Smashbox Primer Oil complex infused matte liquid lipstick glides on just like oil and the presence of Smashbox Primer Oil is very much felt with the comfortable application during wearing hours.
The formula is thin and lightweight when applied and doesn’t take too long to dry allowing obligatory rectifications by inexpert liquid lipstick persons. The formula is fragrance free and waterproof. Directly grab cleansing oil when you need to take it off without wasting time on other alternatives. The pigmentation is super, rich and opaque in one swipe. They surprisingly go matte when dry. “Driver’s Seat” is defined as a warm pink shade but it isn’t a pink color from any angle. It shows up more as a brown pink with a hint of brick red undertones on my lips, but I can definitely use it as an everyday shade because of the comfort it offers and matte finish without me getting conscious about the deep shade.
Smashbox Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick is a long-wearing product with up to 6 hours of wear with teeny weeny transfer on cutlery but it definitely goes through meals without fading. In one line, Smashbox has nailed it.
