My Experience with Tarte Amazonian Butter Lipstick in Tulip:

I am a huge fan of Tarte product’s packaging and this one is no less. Its a cute flowery packaging which reminds me of Spring time. It is a blue cardboard type of tube with white and pink flowers all over it with a golden metal interior. The color that I chose is called “Tulip”, it is a pretty mauve reddish pink. The website describes it as a mauve-rose color. It is a pretty color but it is not the color that actually shows up on my lips. The color that actually shows up is a light pink color. I expected the result to be darker, but that’s no problem. It can be a problem for people who were looking for the exact color shown though. The color matches my skin tone very well, it is not very overwhelming or over the top. It is perfect for everyday use, I just wish it was more vibrant and a little more pigmented. Also, the shade doesn’t have any shimmers or glitters but it is a glossy formula.

I definitely do not need any extra lip gloss on top of it, it looks as if though I have already applied on top. The formula is very moisturizing and creamy which is probably because there are 3 types of butter in it, Shea Butter, Capuacu Butter and Murumuru Butter. Though it is very creamy and moisturizing it does not bleed out of my lips as you would expect it too. Also, it does not even feel too heavy or greasy on the lips thought it kind of leaves it streaky if I do not apply enough product. The moisture and creaminess lasts as long as the lipstick lasts on my lips. It does not dry out my lips nor does it leave it flakey. The staying power is average though. It lasts on my lips for a good 3 hours and then it starts fading. It also has a minty scent to it which is really nice and refreshing.

Pros of Tarte Amazonian Butter Lipstick in Tulip

Cons of Tarte Amazonian Butter Lipstick in Tulip

-The color is not as vibrant as it seems.
-The color is not as pigmented as I would like it to be.
-The color on the tube is not the color you get on your lips.
-It is not very long lasting.

IMBB Rating: 4/5

Overall, in conclusion I really like this lipstick and I am glad I chose this product. With minor flaws, I still find myself using this lipstick a lot. The color compliments my skin tone very well and in my opinion I think this is one of those colors that will go great with any skin tone. I recommend this lipstick to all you ladies, it is a must try. Plus, the packaging is too adorable to pass up on.
