The Body Shop Coconut Body Milk Review

Hello friends,

While in the Body Shop store, I was in two minds if I really wanted to pick up something which smells of coconut, please do not get me wrong 😛 I like the fragrance but it is different when I put Parachute coconut oil in my hair, but in reality do I want to smell like coconut too! 😛 Well, after pondering for a few minutes, I finally picked up the travel-sized version.  Let’s see what I discovered!

The Body Shop Coconut Body Milk

Price:

2 oz.(60 ml) bottle is priced at $4.

Packaging:

The body milk comes in a white transparent plastic bottle with a flip top cap. The regular size version of the bottle has a spray on nozzle, so it can be used as spray on.  The body milk has a very light consistency, almost watery and has snow-like white color.  Keeping with the name, it smells strongly of coconuts.

Product Description:

The Body Shop Coconut Body Milk

My Experience with The Body Shop Coconut Body Milk:

The body milk is very lightweight, so it gets immediately absorbed into the skin after application. It hydrates the skin decently for an hour or so (I have dry skin).  I think it will fare better on normal skin or oily skin. Also, it does not leave any greasy feel. The coconut content in the product comes from Community Fair trade in Samoa.

I have found this body milk to have the thinnest consistency compared to other body lotions that I have used from Victoria’s Secret or Body Shop.

The Body Shop Coconut Body Milk

True to its name, it smells of coconut, but thankfully only coconut. It does not have any other artificial fragrance in it. Also, the good part is that the fragrance dissipates almost immediately after application. After an hour, I have to smell my skin to actually find out if the fragrance is still there or not.  I really liked this thing about the body lotion because I do not want an overwhelming fragrance of coconut all around me.  Since the fragrance is subtle, layering it with other coconut fragrance range products can further enhance it.

The Body Shop Coconut Body Milk

Since plain coconut fragrance is not my cup of tea, I did an experiment and mixed this body milk with my VS Aqua Kiss Body Lotion.  As the body milk is of very thin consistency, it got nicely mixed with the lotion and the end result was great.  It smelled very nice, like a tropical fragrance mix.  Also after mixing both together, my skin felt hydrated for longer duration of hours.

The Body Shop Coconut Body Milk

Pros of The Body Shop Coconut Body Milk:

  • Lightweight body milk, which does not leave any greasy layer on skin.
  • More suitable for oily/normal skin.
  • True to its name, it has coconut fragrance which is mild.
  • Gets absorbed into the skin almost immediately after application.
  • Comes in easy travel-sized options.

Cons of The Body Shop Coconut Body Milk:

  • Recommended only if you like coconut fragrance a lot.
  • Dry skin would need reapplication frequently.
  • Fragrance does not stay for long, so if you like the fragrance, you would need it to layer with other coconut fragrance products.

IMBB Rating:

3/5, I do not like coconut fragrance a lot and it’s not that moisturizing either.

Would I Repurchase The Body Shop Coconut Body Milk?

No, I would not buy the product again as the fragrance is something which will stop me, but if you like coconut fragrance and also have an oily/normal skin texture, this is a product I would recommend to you.
