A few months ago, I included a lot of The Face Shop products to my skincare routine and I still am absolutely enjoying them. Since the weather has changed now I wanted to include some new products and decided to give The Face Shop Chia Seed Hydrating Lotion a try. Now let’s get started with this review.

My Experiment with The Face Shop Chia Seed Hydrating Lotion:

The Face Shop Chia Seed Hydrating Lotion comes in a white bottle with a small clear cap; the cap is not very secure and it might open during travels. Otherwise, this is a nice bottle with a pump dispenser and it provides the right amount of product. I always prefer such hygienic packaging. This bottle comes in a gray outer box, which contains all the details about the product.

Being a lotion, it has medium-thin white texture that glides well on the skin. It feels like a water-based product and gets absorbed into skin nicely with a little massage. It feels light and comfortable on the skin. I prefer to blend the lotion between my fingers and then lightly pat the lotion on my face. With this dabbing motion, the product goes into the skin and leaves a beautiful, soft dewy look.

It actually provides that perfect Korean glossy dewy look which I personally love a lot. But sometimes during summer, I don’t like such glow. Coming to the hydration claim, yes, it does provide rich hydration to the skin but not like a heavy moisturizer. It instantly heals dryness and makes skin softer, smoother and healthier too.

Though I have oily skin this lotion never makes my skin super oily. I just need a single drop of the product to cover my entire face. The excess amount might make skin oily or sweaty during the daytime, so I always prefer to use less and this tiny amount is perfect for moisturizing my skin. It instantly adds a nice bounce and glow to the skin.

If you have dry skin, this lotion will provide you with the desired amount of nourishment and I think it can repair dryness well. Such hydrating lotions are perfect for all skin types. Also, the hydration lasts throughout the day and it suits my sensitive skin as well. It has a mild fresh fragrance too.

It lotion can just hydrate your skin, which means it can’t repair skin problems like spots and pigmentation. But it actually makes the skin healthier and adds a fresh dewy glow too. It’s not a mattifying lotion and it can’t control facial oil. So, if you want something like that, then it’s not for you.

I prefer to use it as a base for my dewy makeup looks. But, since I have super oily skin, this lotion feels a bit greasy when I am out in the sun. I don’t use toners all the time so I can use such lightweight lotions before my night cream. I like to use hydrating products in my night time skin care regimen and this lotions fits the bill perfectly.

Overall, I really like this product and it feels so good on the skin. It helps to maintain the natural healthy glow of the skin. It might seem expensive but it will last long as a little product is needed each time.
