Chia seed line is one among the popular lines from the Korean skincare brand “The Face Shop.” Today, I am going to review the emulsion from that range.
A hydrating emulsion that helps improve suppleness, and gives your skin a surge of moisture.
Contains South American chia seed extract. Moisture-hugging formula with chia seed extract. Dermatologically tested.
1290 INR for 130 ml.
My Experience with The Face Shop Chia Seed Hydrating Emulsion:
I recently picked out the emulsion from The Face Shop Chia Seed range. This range is a hydrating range. Emulsion is something lighter than a serum, but heavier than a serum. I bought this because I find most moisturizers heavy for day time wear except for maybe during winters. The heaviness will make the skin attract more dust and lead the way towards acne and blemishes. It would just become a vicious cycle.
Coming to the emulsion at hand, this comes in a “glass-like” plastic jar. The transparent nature of the jar is much appreciated because you can get to know how many days you are left with your skin saviour or destroyer.
It comes with a pump, and a small plastic cover for it, which I would lose most of the times. So, in terms of travelling, the bottle holds up good.
The product itself is white in colour. It doesn’t have that much of an odour to it. All the products from this range have a similar odour, and they do not last long. Good! Coming to the texture of the product, it is soft but not mousse like. It is not watery and runny. It spreads evenly on the skin, and the product gives a cooling sensation. It didn’t tingle after applying.
It was good as a moisturizing product. It is not greasy nor does become greasy after a few hours. I used this alone on my skin, without any other product before and after, and it was enough for my skin, as mine is a combination skin. I used this as my last step at night, and even then, it was not greasy. The total feel of this hydrating emulsion is like a gel-based moisturizer, but a little heavier than that. After patting on to the skin, it was not matte to touch, but soft to touch.
If you have oily skin, this product might be heavy during summers, but a boon in winters. For normal skin and dry skin, this might not be sufficient in winters. You might have to follow up with a moisturizer.
One more use that I found for this product is that it is easy to blend along with face oils. If you are in the habit of using face oils as the last step, mixing it with this emulsion makes it easy to spread, and the total requirement of the face oil would be less too. Thumbs up for that! Overall, it is a good product. It promises hydrated skin, and it does that. Nothing more! Nothing less!
