As I have mentioned in my previous review of The Face Shop Face Oil, I am rather new to the concept of using face oils because I have always been skeptical about using face oils on my face. I worry about their comedogenic ratings and their potency to cause acne. However, I did a little research and invested in some lightweight, low-viscosity face oils. I bought two face oils in my Korean skin care haul. This article is review of one of the two face oils – Tony Moly BCDation Multi Use Sun Oil SPF 50+ PA++++.
Our 5 in 1 Multi-Use Sun Oil is truly magic in just one drop! Get impenetrable protection from the sun with its SPF 50+ PA++++ formula while also hydrating, soothing, priming, and nurturing the skin. Use underneath makeup as a primer for a hydrated, dewy skin finish or mixed into your daytime skincare. Our oil-based sun protection goes on light and clear which means no ghostly white cast, no sticky residue, and no dreaded greasy feeling, so feel free to build up your sun protection while also hydrating your skin to achieve perfectly natural, healthy-looking skin!

My Experience with Tony Moly BCDation Multi Use Sun Oil SPF 50+:
There are so many face oils out there and most beauty gurus rave about face oils from Farsali, but most of them are expensive and slightly out of my budget. Since I have dabbled with a couple of face oils, I can see why regular users admire them so much. Most of them, including this Tony Moly Sun Oil, smell amazing. They are lightweight and spread amazingly well on skin. They can be mixed with a matte or high coverage foundation to make its application easier or as a last step in skin care routine.
The packaging of this product is very practical and elegant. It comes a 30 ml, glass bottle which is not too heavy but still feels high end. It has a dropper on one end which sits snugly in the tiny opening to make sure that oil does not attract dust and this way, remains sterile. The ingredient list is unfortunately not as impressive as I had hoped.
The first few ingredients or the highest percentage ingredients are not essential oils, rather they are a bunch of chemicals. Although these are not alcohols or sulphates, but heavy oils and emulsions that are used in skin care products, still I wish there were not the high-percentage ingredients. This facial oil also contains a combination of natural oils such as calendula, raspberry, coconut etc., which are good for skin and also contain SPF.
The product has a very pleasant, natural fragrance, and it makes me reach for the oil very often. It is lightweight and easy to spread on face. Just a couple of drops are enough to cover and face. I have used it as a last step in my skin care routine, have mixed it with my moisturizer and also with my foundation – all three ways, it has performed well. It contains SPF which makes it perfect for step 1 in my makeup process.
Pros of Tony Moly BCDation Multi Use Sun Oil SPF 50+:
- It is an affordable face oil, and is perfect for first-time users like me.
- Comes in a 30 ml glass bottle which is practical and elegant and has a dispenser which dispenses an appropriate amount of oil each time.
- The product has a very pleasant, natural fragrance.
- It can be used as a last step in skin care routine, or mixed with moisturizer and also with foundation.
- It contains SPF and is perfect to use before makeup application and also does not “white cast” as other SPF creams.
Cons of Tony Moly BCDation Multi Use Sun Oil SPF 50+:
- Availability can be an issue for some, but some Korean websites do ship to India as well.
- The ingredient list is not very appealing to me because it contains a high percentage of heavy emulsions and lower percentage of natural oils.
Tony Moly BCDation Multi Use Sun Oil SPF 50+ is an affordable face oil and is perfect for first-time users like me. I love the fact that it contains SPF and it makes high coverage foundation application easier. I do recommend it to others as well.
