This review will be on the brand new shade released by Too Faced in their Melted Line, Too Faced Melted Velvet Liquified lipstick.
About The Product:
An intensely saturated lip color with a precise tip applicator.
The shine of a gloss, lasting power of a stain, and pigment-packed color of a liquid lipstick, all in one high-impact formula. Bold, long-wearing color glides on cleanly with the precision tip applicator, delivering rich color with staying power.
My Experience with Too Faced Melted Velvet Liquified Long Wear Lipstick:
This comes in a squeeze tube with an attached applicator. I find the application to be very easy and precise and even with dark shades like this one, I feel like I can get smooth and even application without getting out of the lip line. You can squeeze as much product as needed hence you avoid wastage.
For someone who hasn’t had much experience with the applicator like this, you may need some time getting used to it. Mistakes make while applying this lip color can be very difficult to clean.
Texture & Pigmentation:
This is a highly pigmented lip product. One swipe gives full opaque color. It has a very high shine glossy finish initially but after 3-4 hours, the shine does settle down to a high shine satin finish.
Melted Velvet is rich deep true red but with multiple coats it does turn to a rich burgundy shade. I won’t recommend doing multiple shades and it does tend to bleed. With one coat though, I don’t have an issue with bleeding.
Staying Power & Feel on lips:
Staying power is very impressive; 8 hours on my lips with minimal fading. It does survive through snacking, drinking and even a full meal but you might require a touch up after the meal as it tends to fade from the inside of the lips.
It is neither too drying nor too hydrating on the lips. It feels very lightweight on the lips and does not feel sticky. It did not accentuate line or dryness on my lips.It leaves a strong tint as it fades and you may need a makeup remover to get it off completely at the end of the day.
It has a slightly sweet fragrance which I like. It does not linger for very long on the lips.
This is my first lipstick from the Melted range and I am highly impressed by it. I will also be reviewing Melted Strawberry (another new release) in the near future but for now here is side by side swatch of both of the shades.
Overall, I love love love this lipstick everything from the color to the texture to the staying power. I will most definitely recommend this range.
