Vichy Normaderm Hyauluspot

Hi beauties,

Since many of you may be knowing that I have oily, acne prone skin so I am always on a lookout of products which claim to subside acne. I was intrigued by the Normaderm range and went on to buying its cleanser, face wash and this spot treatment gel. The other two have already been reviewed so I will review this spot application gel.

Ingredients

Price/ Quantity/ Packaging:

INR 850 for 15ml. It comes in a sleek white coloured plastic tube with a green colored screw cap. There is a slant applicator beneath which has a steel covering. I have applied many spot application creams earlier but haven’t seen this unique concept of steel covering. There are days when I have applied it on pus filled/protruding/ painful acne but It always feels smooth and does not give any discomfort on the already troubled skin. Full marks to the company on its unique R&D.

My take on Vichy Normaderm Hyauluspot

It is a transparent gel like liquid with a thick consistency. Once put on the acne it stays put till the time it dries off. It takes some time to dry completely. Do not expect wonders as the gel takes its time to show results. Within 3-4 days you will notice the acne shrinking but it will not vanish altogether, it also leaves marks behind so be careful . Also, on severe cases it doesn’t really work. It has a very pleasant floral fragrance which stays for 10 minutes or so although I so much wished it was without any fragrance. There is no burning sensation post application nor did I notice skin getting unduly dry with this gel.

All in all, I found it be an average cream working only on the initial stages of acne.

Summarising the pros and cons,

Pros of Vichy Normaderm Hyauluspot:

1. Travel friendly packaging. Unique steel covering on the applicator. The screw cap is also tight. Hence can be carried while travelling.
2. Works on mild acne.
3. The gel has a very pleasant floral fragrance.
4. Does not sting or cause any itching on the skin.
5. Is absolutely transparent so you can put it during daytime/work hours as well.

Cons of Vichy Normaderm Hyauluspot:

1. At the price, I expected it to heal my acne in a better manner but it failed to show any results on severe acne.
2. Leaves acne marks behind.
3. Has alcohol as one of the ingredients. I have heard though alcohol may help in curing acne initially but later it aggravates the situation
4. Does not really live upto the claims.

Will I repurchase/ Do I recommend Vichy Normaderm Hyauluspot?

I wont buy it again because at less than half the price there are better alternatives available. As far as recommendation goes, I would say If you are a fan of Vichy products and suffering from mild acne you may give it a try.
