My Take on Wet n Wild Dark Wine Silk Finish Lipstick:
These beauties are worth grabbing as they cost less than a dollar (tax excluded) and have a wide variety of colors to choose from – there is something for every skin tone.
Packaging: Not very nice or sturdy. Also I absolutely despise when a little stub of lipstick juts out because a lot of product gets stuck to the cap which ends up looking tacky. Cap is very fragile and should be handled carefully since it is prone to cracks.
Texture: It is very creamy, which is a pleasant surprise because I didn’t expect a buttery texture for $0.99. It glides on easily and I won’t recommend a thick layer of lip balm underneath as it makes the entire process cumbersome. A sparingly applied lip balm should suffice.
Color: Deep, dark wine shade which should be worn with caution, if worn right it can look as pretty as it looks on Deepik Padukone and if not then one might look very mature and ‘Auntyish’.
Pigmentation: Again impressive pigmentation for the money spent but not good enough for my pigmented lips because in close-up my lip pigmentation is visible even after two coats of lipstick. However, people with pretty pink pouts can use it without a second thought, for others I recommend a neutral lip liner underneath.
Shimmer and Shine: It’s neither matte nor shimmery; it has minimal shimmer that eventually settles into a cream shine finish which I am personally not that fond of. I either like matte finish or a water shine one, intermediate shine does not fare that well on me.
Fragrance: The product has no fragrance whatsoever which might not agree with a few but I personally don’t fret about it.
Wear Time: Easily 3 to 4 hours after which one can touch it up a bit. Wear time might reduce depending upon your lip condition and subject to eating, drinking and so on.
Conclusion: This shade is very pretty and low key for all types of skin tones and one can totally flaunt this shade for a day look or an office look.
