Wet n Wild has launched quite a few new products. I liked their “Perfect pout” gel lip liner, so I purchased two new shades – “Lay Down the Mauves” and “I Got the Juice.” Today, I will be reviewing the pout gel liner in the shade “Lay Down the Mauves.” So, let’s see how this lip liner fared.

My Experience with Wet n Wild Perfect Pout Gel Lip Liner Lay Down the Mauves:
Wet N Wild Perfect Pout Gel lip liner comes in a black twist-up slender plastic pen type packaging. The cap shows the colour of the lip liner and that’s very helpful to locate it in the stash of products. The cap closes with a click. The lip liner comes in a white box with the name of the lip liner – “Lady Down the Mauves” and the ingredients list. The packaging of the lip liner is lightweight and very travel friendly.
Shade and Finish: The shade Lay down the Mauves is a beautiful light nude mauve shade. This lip liner can be paired with almost any lip colour. The finish of the lip liner paired with the new Wet n Wild Catsuit liquid lipstick is great.
Texture and Application: The texture of the lip liner is very smooth, creamy and gel like. The lip liner glides on my lips like a dream. The liner gives a crisp line during the first application; however, the lip liner does smudge easily due to its creamy texture. The liner has a mild chemical-kind of scent which doesn’t bother me. This lip liner is great to fill in the lip lines before applying a liquid lipstick on top. Since it’s a twist up pencil liner, I won’t be able to sharpen the pencil to get a very crisp lip line.
Pigmentation and Coverage: The lip liner is super pigmented and super opaque. It gives a full coverage even if the lips are pigmented. One swipe is all it takes to get the maximum pigmentation.
Staying Power: The staying power is okay with this lip liner. It stays on for around 3 to 4 hours without the need to reapply. It does smudge easily if I rub my lips with my hand accidentally. Overall, I am really happy with the colour payoff and the texture of the lip liner. I feel I can easily wear only the lip liner and go to work.
