Recently, I bought two velvet matte lip colours from Wet n Wild. Fortunately, both of them turned out to be beautiful shades. So, let’s get started with the review of Wet n Wild Velvet Matte Lip Color – Toffee Frappe.

My Experience with Wet n Wild Velvet Matte Lip Color – Toffee Frappe:
Packaging: Wet n Wild Velvet Matte Lip Color comes in a black crayon packaging, which bears the product-related information in white fonts. The cap and the bottom are colour-coded. So, it is easier to spot the shades from the stash. I love the packaging as it looks so cute and is perfectly handy as well. Also, it is a cruelty-free product. Wet n Wild has used the ‘matte’ concept in their packaging too. The twist mechanism at the bottom works perfectly fine, so I am glad that there is no chaos in sharpening it. As far as the price is concerned, this crayon is great for those who are on a budget.
Shade: “Toffee frappe” is a subtle n*de color which looks very light. It appears to be a bit different on the lips as it looks more like a taupe shade. The shade looks good initially but, it blends with my skin tone, so it doesn’t show up on my lips. Also, it doesn’t have a good pigmentation. It would be a good n*de shade for women with very fair skin tones, but on the rest of the skin tones, it will not show up well.
Texture and feel on the lips: The lip crayon has a very soft and velvety texture. It glides on the lips like a dream and gives a mousse-y feel to the lips. It is very lightweight and feels like I have not applied anything at all. It provides a nice matte finish to the lips. The pigmentation is okay, but it could have been better.
Staying power: The staying power is very average as it stays for around 2 hours on my lips after which it fades away completely. If I have a meal, then the lip color is totally gone. It does transfer onto cups and glasses. But, I wouldn’t criticise this more because of the staying power as it comes at a super affordable price.
Pros of Wet n Wild Velvet Matte Lip Color – Toffee Frappe:

- Budget-friendly.
- The texture is velvety soft.
- It has a mousse consistency which glides very smoothly.
- “Toffee Frappe” is a subtle n*de shade.
- Velvety matte finish.
- Does not dry out the lips.
- Cruelty-free.
Cons of Wet n Wild Velvet Matte Lip Color – Toffee Frappe:
- It stays for an average time of about 2 hours.
- Does not show up well.
- Will work only for very fair skin-tones.
- Transfers a lot.
- The pigmentation could have been better.

Will I Recommend/Repurchase Wet n Wild Velvet Matte Lip Color – Toffee Frappe?
This is a good shade but, I liked the other shade more. I am not going to pick this one again since Wet n Wild has really good lip crayons called “balm stain” at the same price which work a lot better. Buy those instead of these velvet matte lip colours.

I really like the other stuff from them, waiting for them to come to India! 🙂
