I am reviewing Clinique Pop Lip Color + Primer in “Sweet Pop” today. Clinique Pop Lip Color+Primer range consists of 16 shades – 12 with satin and 4 with shimmer finish.

My Experience with Clinique Pop Lip Colour + Primer – 9 Sweet Pop:
Clinique Pop Lip Color + Primer range has been in the spotlight since a couple of months, mainly because of their packaging. The square tube is color coordinated with the shade of the lip color and each one has a silver cap with Clinique name imprinted on it. The cap shuts tight, making it lightweight and travel friendly.
The creamy formula glides on like melted butter on the lips, the texture is super soft and feels like something in between cream, gel and waxy – a blend that I can’t explain. It feels more like a thick gloss rather than a lipstick. It is very lightweight and feels completely non-sticky on the lips. There is no added fragrance.
Also, it is highly moisturising and comfortable to wear. The shade “Sweet Pop” is a Barbie pink with cool undertones and high satin and glossy finish – so far, so good! Now, let’s talk about the setbacks.
Clinique Pop Lip Color + Primer Sweep pop is not an opaque lipstick. You need a couple of swipes to get full color payoff on the lips, but still, it doesn’t hide lip imperfections and accentuates lip lines. Yes, it settles into lip lines and there is a visible uneven application.
“Sweet Pop” is a cool undertone shade, so without a foundation, it makes me look pale and sick. It can be gorgeously flaunted by fair and medium fair skin tones.
The longevity is around 5 hours with regular fluid intake. It transfers a bit and leaves behind a pink stain after fading.

- Not suitable for deep skin tones.

Do I Recommend/Repurchase Clinique Pop Lip Colour + Primer – 9 Sweet Pop?
I expected a lot more from Clinique Pop Lip Color + Primer Sweep pop because it was quite raved on blogosphere, but unfortunately, I was disappointed the moment I applied it. In my opinion, not worth $18.5. I will recommend it to women with fair complexion or cool undertones. The shade washes me out (NC-30). I will not repurchase this lipstick.
