Estee Lauder Pure Colour Envy Sculpting Lipstick – Infamous Review

Okay ladies, this is the last – absolute last – from the Estee Lauder’s Envy line of lipsticks. I had picked up this colour along with the previously reviewed Impassioned from this line; a very different shade from what I gravitate towards normally, but I wanted something different, something cooler.  Let’s read on to find out more about this shade.

Packaging:

As mentioned in my previous reviews, the packaging for Envy Lipsticks is a classy square deep royal blue tube, with top and base golden in colour. The top has Estee Lauder engraved on it, so does the inner tube.  The lipsticks come in a Royal blue cardboard box. The box is seal wrapped in plastic – ensuring hygiene and non-contamination.

My Experience with Estee Lauder Pure Colour Envy Sculpting Lipstick – Infamous:

Color:  Infamous looks like a warm-toned pink in the tube; however, on application, it’s extremely cold and bright. I was in two minds whether to pick Infamous or Powerful (which is a warmer and a more easily wearable pink). Finally, decided to go with Infamous because I didn’t have something this cool toned in my stash, so I felt the colour to be fairly unique.

The shade is a little tricky. I feel that it looks a little too cool in my lip swatch pics than it actually is. The colour being so cold, will be easier to be pulled off by cool-toned females. On warmer skin tone, the coolness may clash, but it is totally up to you how you rock it. I would advise you to try this shade in store before taking the plunge. It may not flatter all skin tones.

Texture:  Again, there is consistency in the texture across the “Envy” line.  The texture is lightweight, creamy and glides smoothly on the lips. The colour hugs the lips, sculpting them perfectly, without accentuating fine lines. The lipstick was very comfortable on the lips and lightly hydrating while worn.

Pigmentation:  The beauty of the line also lies in their fully saturated colour pigmentation, about 95 – 100% colour deposit in one swipe. I absolutely love this fact and my pigmented lips are grateful for the fully opaque coverage.

Lasting Power:  The claim made by the company is 6 hours full coverage. It definitely delivers on the claim. This shade being slightly lighter, doesn’t go much beyond the 6 hours, but definitely delivers up to the 6 hours. It fades evenly. There was no dry patch or clinging feeling throughout the wear time.

Cons of Estee Lauder Pure Colour Envy Sculpting Lipstick – Infamous:

  • Ease of availability across India.

IMBB Rating: 5/5

The quality of this entire line is impeccable! There are no two ways about it. You can go ahead and pick pretty much any shade that suits you, from the range, and be sure that its gonna be a winner and you will be reaching for it often. This range is a treat your lips deserve!!  I will try and get you swatches of the entire range if I am able to make it. It’s just that it has been raining full on in Mumbai for 2 days now and does not seem to be letting up, which is not so great for the photography – and nor does it make you feel like venturing out.

  1. Nice review kk… I agree.. The color on lips is so very different from that of the bullet…. But why is this the last el lipstick review…. Awwwww… Come on…. Give us some more

    1. Im burning a hole in my pocket with my obsession!!! No more Envy lippies! I’ll try to get swatches of all the shades, instead!!

  2. this look different in bullet and different on U….but u rock it…..i really like ur choice in makeup..u pick up the best…this is more of my kind of pink….when is IMBB holding next sale??? and am sure u will hv lots of lippes for sale…..

    1. Thanks Anuradha!! Next time IMBB holds a sale, I’ll be selling a tonne of lippies…including MACs coz I don’t really wear them!! Love these babies!!

  3. wow KK, no one else has been able to lay hands on this range…i loved the shade Rebellious Rose so much that i have ordered it, though i have to pay a lot for that in terms of shipping 😛 and nothing else looked like i can carry off, Powerful is really a warmer pink shade than this but again, i am not so sure making online purchases for lipsticks with blog-sphere swatches because Asian tones are unique! After-all, i have been saving for a year to purchase Estee Lauder and MAC….. 😀 😀 But i made it to Clinique too 😀 Ear to ear grin!!! Thanks for being the inspiration KK *puchhi* Lovely review ma’am 😉

    1. Im happy you are able to get your hands on stuff that you want! It can be quite tedious, i know! Pls don’t call me “Ma’am” – It adds 10 more years to my age!! *waaa* *waaa*

I understand about the swatches Sumera, its difficult to decide basis firangi skin tone swatches. Even when you see swatches on Indian skin tone, its mostly lip swatch and not applied lip swatch or FOTD – which can be very different.

Hope you are able to make a trip abroad soon so that you can buy all that you want in person!! *puchhi*

  4. *drool*… Loved the colour in the bullet,it’s more of warm tone..right??BT as usual u rock the shade…m ur fan!
