I’m a teenager from Singapore and I’ve been having a blackhead and whitehead problem for very long. I exfoliate regularly and use pore strips, or squeezing them out but there are still some stubborn ones and after awhile, the blackheads come back again.
I was wondering if you could recommend any product to get rid of my blackheads. Since blackheads are caused by oil clogged in pores thats why I’m looking for a mattifying lotion.

I also get a lot of blackheads on my node area especially.
Here are a few things that i do:
I scrub my nose every other day . I do scrubbing on my whole face twice a week but I do scrub my nose with an exfoliator every other day. After scrubbing I apply a toner or else the moisturizer would clog your pores.
I have noticed that Clinique’s clarifying lotion also helps me keeping my black heads at bay. It reeks of alcohol but I don’t mind applying it. On face I apply it may be once or twice a week but on nose I apply it after scrubbing.
Scrubs that have AHAs help you get rid of black heads. St Ives is one.
I do get my black heads cleaned up at the salon once in may be two months.

Its good…The only prob is that my skin gets slightly oily n dull in a few hours… 1 or 2 hours!!! so I am planning to buy some other Fairness Creme… Which one would u suggest? hi Kamnika…i wanted to get rid of blemishes so even i tried this range but this didnt suit my combination skin. so i rather tried ponds white beauty cream and ponds white beauty facewash. this is oil free and non greasy. and i loveeeeeeeeeee the face wash its really makes my dull skin glow…and its good for all types of skin..even oily. my marks have considerably lightened by these 2 products. you could also try avon fairness cream ( i think comes for 50 rs. or so) and has licorie extract…pink color tube…that too is oil free and gives instant brightness to the skin…………THESE ARE THE ONLY TWO I HAVE TRIED….by the way which other products of flawless range you’ve used? like i have the mask…of the range..is it good? not tried yet……..and have you used the makeup products of the range ( i dont knw whether availabe in india or not) hope i helped.take care. :bye:

A few of my friends with the same problem have tried the “oil-cleansing method” – you take an oil (coconut, sesame, or olive), and coat your face and neck in it. Let it sit for a few minutes, then rub it off with a clean washcloth. It seems weird, but the idea is that the oil sitting on your face softens the gunk clogging your pores, so you can then scrub it all away with the cloth. My friends said it takes about two weeks before it stops feeling gross, but then your skin gets much better. It doesn’t work for everyone but maybe is worth a chance! (And if it works for you, it’s cheap too, since you don’t have to buy cleanser/toner/moisturizer anymore, just oil.
That’s a good tip. I am not scared of oils on my face, thanks to my dry skin.

I have the mask as well… but im savin it for an OCCASION

I was just reading some stuff and i think i read somewhere that Clean & Clear is good for combo skin… the FW n Moisturiser… Moisturisers apparently water based , thus can be used under some other creme.
M plannin to try that out this time.. My flawless white creme got over today!!! N i wanna try Lakme Perfect Radiance creme. the ad n packagin is makin me go nuts… what do u think????

hi…oh there is already 1 more radhika..hi to u.i am new to IMBB. rati did u get my mail …howz it??? .. kamnika i am also a college student.lol…u can try lotus botanicals.compact…maybelline compact..colorbar 3 in 1 compact .(it claims having foundation,concelaer,compact all in 1)…revlon has many compacts…..i think ponds is foundation powder or foundation in a form of compact…is it? well yeah i think lakme radiance would be oil free so u cud try it but personlly i have never been happy/satisfied with lakme products…you could also try olay white.cream.
.i just read in paper it got 69 from 99…so worth a try……….once agn i would recommend avon fairness cream with licorie as it gives instant brightness…
.see if ur skin is oily it may get dull soon and also that could happen due to travelling….so the best thing you could do is keeping oil at bay by using toner and various oil control /sebum control products
oriflame has got a sebum control compact which is quite good…
if you dont mind could you tell me your skin care routine..(optional..lol)

and twice a week a scrub and a facepack!!!!

you know i tried the lotus kajal. i stung my eyes very bad and my eyes turner red and watered till i removed it.. so i use the himalaya one. quite like it. its a lot better than biotique.

yes i read about clean & clear. yes you shud give it a try. it works for some and for some it doesnt. (it didnt for me..n my frnds too)
however, its naturally the first think people use for oily/combination skin.
according to my experience ,one should use a variety of products..i mean one product from one range and not follow the whole range. (the way you followed ponds range)
ok heres what i would suggest:
facewash : try himalaya neem face wash or ponds white beauty or lakme fruit blast ( orange color.really gives brightness to skin)
toner : a toner is very important as it control oil secreted by skin. and henceforth may help you combat your dullness.
rose water is often used by people as toner but its not sufficient. infact i would suggest you to stop using it alone ( you can use it with masks)
so try lotus basil tone. really calm, really nice. contols oil. above all has least chemical .
but the BEST option is toner that has tea tree. not sure but i think there is one in lotus range too. but Fab INDIA TEA TREE TONER IS REALLYY GOOOD.
SOMETINGG MORE TO KNOW : tea tree has helped many with acne,dullness,oiliness who couldnt find any product working 4 them. its really good.
cram/sunscreenetc.. : like i said before and before .i think avon naturals fairness cream would be best.
WHY: it has licorie extract..that makes spots lighter, skin brighter,in 2 weeks removes dull and pale skin, continued usage gives vvvv good results.
NOW the best factor is that it has SUNSCREEN. yes SPF 15. enuf for face.
in RUPEES 59 want else would you want! its more than enough.
whatt you really do well is scrubing and using packs/masks twice a week. keep it up.
also drink enough water. i till 10th grade never paid attention too “drink water” mantra. but now after following it..i see results. not just on my face but entire .
keep a habit of following cleanisng,toning ,moisturing daily twice( once in morning and in night)
compact : then you can use compact after doing these 3 in morning or in parties.
kajal : every kajal after 4 or 5 hrs. does give racoon eyes. specially cos of heat/huumidity.
i have tried lotus,himalaya,joves etc.
all you could may be do is find which is more long lasting. y not clean eye area as soon as the kajal starts fading and do a touch up thing. or use liner.

Hi, i also like most of us experience this problem.
I’ve been using this homemade remedy, last 6 months or so- dried and coarsely powdered orange peel (as in the rind) as a regular twice-a- day facewash. its actually a mild scrub, not wash, and i should think it suits pretty much all skins.
i agree that the process of making this face scrub is tedious but once you make it you can store it forever (couple of years i mean, since its a dry powder) and the results are spectacular (at least have been on me-its the only product that could put an end to my monthly salon facial routine).
of course you can mix in smaller quantities of other ingredients that help you and also use it on other acne prone zones (upper back etc.).
