Kajal : Oriflame Beauty Kajal Eye Liner/ Coloressence Bridal Kajal

Oriflame Beauty Kajal Eye liner vs Coloressence Bridal Kajal

The two extremes:

Kajal Wars

I know I have already reviewed 3 kajals on IMBB namely VLCC. Lotus Herbals and Himalaya. (Read review HERE ) And yet again I bought certain kajals. All thanks to IMBB, my addiction knows no bounds. Now I have numerous kajals and the next on list eyetex dazzler kajal which is probably available in Chennai. Also as Rati says, kajals can be thrown away soon enough like mascaras I believe so its okay as finishing the whole tube is out of question, especially since I do use cosmetic lenses, I do change eye make up often for fear of any contamination. Till now I have been loving the vlcc and lotus herbals kajal but now I think I have found something even better.

It’s the Oriflame Beauty Kajal Eye liner that I recently purchased. So here is what I feel:

Oriflame
Oriflame

Source

Oriflame beauty kajal eye liner: price rs 279 for a 2.5 gram stick (but look out for any offers)

What it claims:
Ultra long lasting, blacker than black kajal for intensely sultry eyes. Contains chamomile extract and antioxidant properties to help soothe and moisturise. Light, non-greasy formula leaves your skin with a wonderfully soft, velvety feel.

The packaging:

oriflame kajal
oriflame kajal

Its uber classy with a shiny black case which is square and the stick of intense black kajal twists up smoothly. The casing inside is shining silvery one which looks stunning. The pack mentions the colour as carbon black and I believe that is the only colour available. I do have green and blue kajals but I had bought them long back on some offer so I wonder whether oriflame still has it.i love the sleek packaging.

The feel:

The kajal stick is extremely soft but not gooey to the extent that it would smudge. It is super easy to line water line with it and moreover, if any of us are scared of tightlining the upper waterline, this kajal will do the trick as it glides like a dream . the color is rich smooth intense black and totally matte. If u wish , u can set it with black eye shadow powder or anything powder to set it as I believe that will double the intensity of this kajal. They call it kajal eye liner although I do not recommend using it on the lid as over time it may smudge . u can always use it as a base for an eye shadow but just a little will do the trick.

The downside: do not expect the kajal to stay on ur waterline for more than two hours as the when we blink any kajal would recede into the lash line. U can try lining ur lower lash line with this and lining just under the lashes and sealing it with some powder if u do not wish to use it on the waterline as lining the water line will close the eyes up.

All in all, I just want to say that this is by far the smoothest, softest, richest, blaskest kajal I have used keeping general kajal factors in mind.
Vlcc and lotus herbals kajal are definitely comparable and they are made in India too. sadly, this is made in Germany despite kajals being India’s forte. But all u kajal lovers, do pick this up as u will not regret the money spent and this will probably become ur HG kajal soon. It’s worth every paisa.

The other extreme is:

Coloressence Bridal Kajal:Price Rs 85

coloressence kajal
coloressence kajal

What it claims:
Bridal Kajal:

  • This unique ayurvedic formula is soft and soothing to the eye
  • The added ingredients help to improve vision and brighten the eye
  • It is mild, gentle and safe to the eye and therefore can be used by anyone
  • This kajal does not smudge

What the pack says:

  • Unique nourishing formula for effortless application
  • Water proof and ultra smooth for all day wear
  • Bridal kajal is a state of the art kajal with a unique fast dry formula that has a smooth flow and apt application which is water proof and lasts all day without smudging and flaking

The scientifically designed firm conical tip enables precise application to avoid sensitive skin around eyes (misprint on the pack I guess)while the easy long grip allows pin point control of the application
Ideal to relax the eyes while the almond oil helps promote the strength of lashes. Natural carbon helps in safe guarding ur eyes while giving u the high definition u desire

The packaging:
It has a matte finish black packaging with a silver rim in between and silver casing inside with a twist up stick kajal. And the color mentioned is black. Looks decent enough

My take :
First of all, I think all the above words on the packaging are extravagant and written just for the heck of it. I agree the kajal is firm and water proof because it is extremely hard to glide on any where around the yes. Forget about using it on the water line.

I called it other extreme because unlike kajals. This kajal is very hard and id even harder than an eye pencil used to line lash line. I believe kajals should be soft enough to line water line but when I tried using it on the waterline., it just would not glide and no black speck of colour could be seen . the I tried ling my upper lash line with it like I would use any eye pencil. It was hard to use even on there. I was so shocked. And they are calling themselves kajal.

Some light at the end of the tunnel:
Because it is so firm to use, I will hence forth use it as eye pencil as it is decent black and is water proof owing to the quality. It can also be used under the lashes but not waterline. I like the casing so I will not throw it. I paid just 85 do I am forgiving them. I did not have any allergic reaction to it so it’s okay. They have new website which is entertaining so I shall let it go. The kajal is hard to glide so it will really not smudge from the lash line and in between lashes.

Somehow I have some faith in this brand and will write to their customer care infirming them the quality of the kajal and requesting them to call it eye pencil and not kajal because the pack I purchased is not smooth what so ever.

Rating :-* (just because I got a huge stick to use as black eye pencil)

Please suggest other uses for this as using it as a kajal is impossible.

  5. I’ve never been a fan of Oriflame, i bought all these eyeshadows and cleansers n scrubs, they didn’t work at all. I think oriflame suits ‘caucasian skin’ better, i don’t think it works well on indian skin. I spents thousands of bucks on this brand, never got a good result. But when i used to buy oriflame, they didn’t have kajals, however this looks good, i will definitely give it a try.
