Stila Kajal Eyeliner Smoky Quartz Review

The first time I walked into Sephora, I was so happy. I roamed and drank everything with my eyes for almost an hour and when I was done, hubby was dozing on the couch.  :hihi:   I had just started watching youtube videos and Stila kajal was very popular with the US bloggers then. So, I definitely had to get it.

Product Description:

Kajal eye liners are formulated to mimic the ultra-soft texture of the Indian eye darkener of the same name.  The luscious formula is silky smooth and glides on perfectly, without dragging across the most fragile skin around the eye area. Delivers bold, clear, true color that blends easily and beautifies.

My Experience with Stila Kajal Eyeliner – Smoky Quartz:

Stila Kajal eyeliners “are formulated to mimic the ultra-soft texture of the indian eye darkener of the same name.”  They are ultra-soft! They are incredibly creamy, requiring hardly any effort to apply to the lid and the waterlines.  The color is richly pigmented, so just gliding the pencil to your lid will result in true color payoff and blending is just as effortless as the application.  In my opinion, this pencil is great for blending and creating smokey eyes. I applied it on my oily lid and it smeared and smudged so bad, even with a primer, but a lot of girls like these pencils. Maybe they’ll work for you if you have a large lid area.

This is a black-grayish shade, more black than a charcoal color.  That being said, it isn’t my most favourite liner, but I like it on my waterline and for tight-lining when I’m in a hurry.

So, summing it up:

Pros of Stila Kajal Eyeliner – Smoky Quartz:

  • Great pigmentation, one swipe gives you full color.
  • Smooth application.
  • Very creamy.
  • Sharpenable, so hygienic.
  • Looks great on the lash lines.
  • Really great for tight lining.

Cons of Stila Kajal Eyeliner – Smoky Quartz:

  • So creamy that the tip breaks off very often.
  • Smears so bad on my oily lids.
  • A little pricey for what you get.
  • In one word  – “OVERRATED.”

Verdict:

There are better liners for way less cost, you can totally skip this.  This will be popular if they have a smudge-free version and so far, this is the only Stila product that is so bad 🙁
