I cannot tell how much in love I am with the entire KIKO lipsticks range and if you check their website you will notice that they have products to offer for every need, be it matt or glossy or sheer lipsticks or the various textured eyeshadows. Greedy me keeps wanting more and more.Coming to next range from KIKO, todays review will be on KIKO Velvet Matt-Satin lipstick #604 Bright Orange. I have two shades from this range and the other one is #614 Dark Berry.

Packaging: The Lipstick comes in a Black matte cardboard box. The lipstick is housed in a metallic pearly gold tube. The cap is in a similar metallic bronzy gold color. The mechanism of this lipstick is a bit different and I have never seen something like this before. The cap closes on firmly and does not open easily on its own. To open you need to push the top of the cap and it eventually pushes the lipstick down. The cap closes with a click. The lipstick has twist up mechanism. The lipstick is chubby but very travel friendly. The number of the lipstick is mentioned on the carton and the base of the lipstick. The name is mentioned on the website but not on the carton or the lipstick itself.
My Experience with KIKO Velvet Matt-Satin Lipstick #604 Bright Orange:
The name says it all #604 is the brightest orange till date that I own. It looks more of neon orange in the bullet. But worry not as it is not that bright in your face kind when you apply it on the lips. Actually this lipstick is all that you need to get color to your gloomy days.
Bright Orange belongs to the Matt range and is truly matt with absolutely no shine or glossiness. There are no shimmers in it. The texture is soft but not very creamy or butter like. It is visible from the bullet as it looks pretty hard and drying.
Although it glides with ease on the lips while application I still feel the need of exfoliating properly and applying the lip balm for the ease of it. Bright Orange would not crumble on the lips as it is not that soft and creamy. But yes it highlights rough and dry patches and accentuates fine lines. Since it is matt it gives a dry look. For me it is drying and I cannot attempt applying it without lip balm. You can see my lip swatch that it looks dry as I have applied it only once to show the patchiness. But in my FOTD I have applied almost thrice and it looks better.
The pigmentation is good but the only issue here is that when applied in a single swipe it looks patchy on the lips. To get an even look multiple layering is needed. This lipstick is light on lips but still layering leads to feeling a bit sticky. Also to get opaque coverage I would recommend to apply once then blot it with a tissue paper and reapply to avoid looking patchy and heavy.
The staying power is good enough for 5-6 hours after which it starts fading away from the center of the lips. It does transfer a bit to the cutlery. These are not waterproof and do not have any bothersome smell to it. With all its drawbacks I still love this shade as these cons can be worked around on.
