Shaily asks:

Hi..

Can you please suggest some good hair masks( with lesser chemicals) available in the market. I will be moving to a hostel in some days. Hence using dahi and banana will be difficult. Thanks in advance.

I have been using extra virgin olive oil on my dry hair for quite sometime. Don’t need anything else. My hair is in very good condition right now.

If you dont mind spending a bit, try L’occitane repairing shine mask for dry and damaged hair.
Rati reviewed it and it has been on my wishlist ever since :) You can search and read the review here on IMBB.

try sunsilk keratinology mask… it’s good for it’s price… :) hot oil champis should be the best bet if you want lesser or no chemicals, coz any ready-made pack will have some chemicals!

oil your hair before wash so that they are nourished and don’t dry out after wash…
coconut oil or olive oil are good…

Try mayonnaise hair mask recipe is good for dry and damaged hair and has less chemicals too.

Hi SHaily,

you can try deep hydrating mask from Loreal Matrix Biolage or the muskroot one from Biotique… the second one is natural… both are great!

Hey, hostel haircare is difficult. But not impossible. I used to poach curd from our mess. So don’t worry, that option may still be open to you.
Rely on good hair oils…sesame, olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil or all/some blended, sometimes with a Vit E capsule.

Nutrition is an issue when you are away from home. Ensure a good healthy diet, very important for hair and skin care

There will be many like minded people in hostel. I remember my time..we used to evn apply henna in groups and it was so much fun….trust me as few days pass u will also settle down and can start ur own home made mask at ur convinience..
