Hello everyone,
I am someone who is born with super dry lips! I get cracked lips even in summers; winters give me nightmares. I always stock up lip balms and lip treatments whenever I find anything exciting. Today I am going to review one of the Nivea lip butters. Read on to find out more about it.
Price: Around CA$ 4
Product Description:
Indulge your senses and pamper your lips with Nivea Lip Butter. Enriched with Shea Butter, Almond Oil and Hydra IQ, it provides intense long-lasting moisturization to keep your lips soft and silky smooth. Nivea Lip Butter Original is an aromatic treat for the lips. The rich formula with shea butter, almond oil and Hydra IQ melts on the lips, restoring suppleness and adding a silky gloss.
How it Works:
• Gives intense moisture and long-lasting care.
• Helps condition and calm dry lips.
Packaging:
The Nivea lip butter comes in a small 16.7 g tin that’s packed to the rim. The overall packaging is pretty humble and sleek with the ingredients list at the back of tin. I kind of don’t like carrying tin lip balms in my purse even though the lid shuts nicely. I get weird thoughts like my balm will melt and spoil my stuff. Well, very weird but you know Indian summers. Secondly, many people don’t prefer tin or pots for sanitary reasons. But, it’s perfect for me to use at home during bed time.
My Experience with Nivea Lip Butter Original:
The lip butter is plain with no additional scent and gives a colourless shine to lips when applied as a thin coat. The texture is super creamy because it is a butter and not a typical balm at the end of the day. The formula is rich and smooth; if you go through the ingredients list, it gives an impression of all good and moisturising things for lips.
But the butter may start to bleed if applied in excess quantity, just like any normal butter. I mean we need to take a really small quantity and apply a thin coat for a smooth and creamy texture. It feels as if I am applying some cream on my lips. I mostly use it at night time before going to bed to wake up with smooth lips.
Yes, the moisturising power is great and I really love it. I love how my lips feel so soft post application. It works decently on cracked lips as well. During day time I avoid using this lip butter as it feels a bit slippery, and prefer Maybelline or EOS lip balms.
Pros of Nivea Lip Butter Original:
• Super creamy and smooth
• Moisturises lips pretty well
• One thin coat lasts whole night
• Makes lips soft and supple
• Treats cracked lips
Cons of Nivea Lip Butter Original:
• Tin packaging
• May feel slippery if applied in larger quantity
• I do not like to carry it in my purse
IMBB Rating: 4/5
