Arissa Lipstick Mocha Review, Swatches
Arissa as a brand is relatively new to me, I chanced upon the brand while browsing through the items on sale on Cherry Culture. I bought two items from this Arissa brand, one is an autoliner and the other one is this lipstick in Mocha. I assumed Mocha would look good on me, but after trying the lipstick, I can say that, browns aren’t for me; dark pinks and plums are my shades. PRICE: Around $3. KEY INGREDIENTS: MY TAKE ON ARISSA LIPSTICK IN MOCHA: The label on the back of the lipstick cover reads “Rich, full coverage lipstick glides on smoothly with exceptional colour and wear. Enriched with vitamin E and Aloe Vera to condition and moisturize lips.” But the lipstick turned out to be the exact opposite. Arissa lipstick comes in a heavy black impressive matte casing. I just went “wow” over the packaging, but when I opened and twisted up the lipstick, it was damaged and melting. The lipstick looked so creamy that I had to immediately put it in the refrigerator to prevent further melting. After a while, when I pulled it up back again and smelt it, it stank of molten plastic and very synthetic. After applying it on the lips, I found it rather sticky than creamy. It got stuck on to the lips like glue and there was nothing creamy about it. It did look a lot creamier in the tube, but on lips, it first went stickier and then dried up the lips. The shade went starkly bland on my lips and I ended up with a washed out face. But, I found out an unique way to make use of this lipstick. I apply this lipstick as a base and apply lipsticks with less staying power over it and the latter stays for a much longer time. The only thing that bothers me with this technique is the smell of molten plastic, but I put up with it.:)
SOME YAY’S ABOUT ARISSA LIPSTICK IN MOCHA:
• Packaging, Ilike the heavy matte casing it comes in. • Came dirt cheap at $3. • I make use of the stickiness of the lipstick as a glue to stick lipsticks with less staying power on to it, this way, the latter lipstick stays on for a longer time.
SOME NAYS ABOUT ARISSA LIPSTICK IN MOCHA:
• It smells of molten plastic and stinks badly. • Looks creamy, but goes sticky on the lips and later dries out the lips. • Not my shade at all, though looks good on swatches. WILL I BUY IT AGAIN: NO. IMBB STAR RATING: 2/5.
