A Very Happy and Prosperous New Year to each and every one you!! God bless us all! I am really happy that I decided to write on IMBB. It has been my refreshment tonic after my day’s work. I am glad to be here on this very first day of the year. Hopefully, it gets published on the first day 🙂
I was a little surprised to see Biotique makeup products on an e-commerce site two months back. I was not aware of it back then. I decided to try their liquid foundation first mainly because of its many tempting features. One is I can use this as a tinted moisturizer and the second feature is SPF 50. Third is of course the price. Biotique being an herbal product is an added advantage. It was available on a few sites and with no offer. It was only INR 180 for 35 ml. No harm trying it. I ordered it immediately.
When I got it delivered a couple of days back, I was a little disappointed. It was mentioned on the pack that it is formulated for “dry skin.” I have combination skin with normal to oily skin type with occasional break outs. Nevertheless, I decided to give it a try.
The packaging was sturdy. It is a mild skin tone plastic box with a black flip cap. I have this in my purse, it is travel friendly. I tend to waste product by pressing more than required. There is nothing interesting about the packaging except that it does a decent job. I am absolutely okay with it as I am glad the foundation does not come in the green tub 🙂
It is not fragrance free. It doesn’t last long but you have to bear it for the first 5 minutes of application. It smells like old Cinthol soap.
I ordered the shade “Almond 15.” There has been no mention of this product on their web site. I was not able to locate the shade. I chose this shade based on the shades available on the web site. It has matched my tone to a great extent. As it is meant for dry skin, I skip moisturizer and apply it directly on my face after cleansing and toning. It is a little runny in consistency. It has no shimmer or sheen. I was able to apply it with ease. It gave a dewy finish as claimed. It is a medium coverage makeup but buildable.
To my surprise, it stayed on my skin till the end of the day, around 8 hours. Isn’t that great? It is long lasting as claimed. My oily T zone was not oily or greasy for a good 5 hours. This was more than what I expected from this product.
Its claim for dry skin is wrong. Dry skin girls may require moisturizer prior to application. It works well for my combination skin, I skip moisturizer. I would ask oily skin girls to stay away from this. It also didn’t break me out 🙂
Pros of Biotique Bio Color Moisture Glow Makeup with SPF 50:
- Gives a dewy finish.
- Gives medium coverage, but buildable.
- Long lasting.
- SPF 50.
- Keeps oil at bay for decent hours.
- Doesn’t break me out.
Cons of Biotique Bio Color Moisture Glow Makeup with SPF 50:
- Ingredients list missing.
- Not fragrance free.
- Availability is a major issue.
It is a great hit as far as I am concerned. An affordable tinted moisturizer cum foundation with SPF 50. It is very difficult to find such a product for my skin type. I would wholeheartedly recommend this product as a daily tinted moisturizer for beginners. I would like to request Biotique to market such a good product properly.
Happy New Year once again!!
