Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick Jam Review

Hello gorgeous gals,

Today’s review is on a bullet lipstick! Hallelujah! Yes, I have those too in my collection – contrary to popular belief!! 😉 Today’s topic of discussion centre’s around Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche lipstick in the shade “Jam.” I reviewed the shade “Beetroot” some time back and absolutely loved the shade and the saturated pigmentation of the lipstick. Let’s see if this lipstick also falls in line with that. So, let us get on with the review of “Jam.”

Price:
$26 for 4.35 g

Packaging:
The packaging is fairly simplistic and yet distinctive. The lipstick comes in a charcoal grey rubberised packaging. The cap has a lip cut into it which makes it distinct. The bullet itself has the normal roll up mechanism with the cap locking in securely. The lipstick comes packaged in a cardboard box which again is distinctive. The casing does not add much weight to the lipstick – it is light and easy to travel with.

My Experience with Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick Jam:

Color: The shade “Beetroot” reviewed earlier, was a medium to dark reddish-berry shade. Add a little purple/violet to it and you get Jam!! Described aptly as “rich merlot,” this shade is a medium to deep purple-berry shade, perfect for the fall season. This is quite an attention seeking shade – a bit vampy and quite stunning.

Texture: The texture of the lipstick is quite different from what I have tried earlier. It is creamy and gives a glossy finish to the lips – and yet the lipstick doesn’t seem to “glide” on – which normally a creamy lipstick would. I’m not saying that the lipstick is dry. I am also not saying that the texture is bad. It is just different. The texture is fairly lightweight and creamy, but it doesn’t settle into the lip lines. Something about the texture (while applying) makes it difficult for me to apply this with smooth outer lines. I had the same issue with Beetroot too. I always feel the need to line my lips to get a clear lip line or apply the lip line with a pencil brush. Post application, feel of the lipstick is extremely comfortable and somewhat hydrating. Your lips do feel better off than they were before the application. Being creamy, it does transfer. However, it is so richly pigmented that the colour is still mostly there.

Pigmentation: The pigmentation on this is quite excellent – it is rich and insane. The lipstick is super pigmented. The rich pigmentation ensures you get excellent wear because even with eating or sipping through the day, the intensity of the shade may slightly dim, but it is still very much there. The pigmentation does cause me concern while applying, I have to either use a lip liner or lip brush to get even and clean outer lines.

Lasting Power:  Considering the intense pigmentation that this lipstick has, it should come as no surprise that the lipstick lasts pretty much the whole day. The intensity of the shade does dim slightly, but it does to look bad as it does not get patchy or start bleeding. It just stays put. And the best part – the eminent stain it leaves. I know some people do not like lipsticks which stain. I kind of do. So, even when at the end of the day, the lipstick starts fading, the stain still remains and gives you a put together look.

IMBB Rating:
A 4.5/5 product.

I am in love with this formula and would love to buy more shades from this range. I have my eyes on the shade “Rhubarb,” it looks just stunning to me, but I am consciously trying not to buy more lipsticks. However, I totally recommended this shade and this formula to you.
