My Experience with Bobbi Brown Eye Opening Mascara
This is a new launch from Bobbi Brown. Eye Opening mascara promises a high impact curl and high volume for lashes. Well! let’s see how it fared in my case.
This mascara comes packed in this absolutely gorgeous toffee like packaging with these sweet eye drawings printed on the wrapping paper. It almost looks like a cute toffee. The mascara tube is a fat matte black – simple and classy. The wand is really thick with shirt bristles. It is probably the thickest mascara wand I have ever tried. And there lies the problem. I find it extremely difficult to use. Every time I use this mascara it gets all smudged on my upper lash line. On days when I am not wearing any eyeshadow, it is fine because I can fix it. But on days when I have eye makeup on I dread to use this.Also because of the thickness I find it difficult to really get to the roots of the lashes and build it up because it just gets all over the place. I also rarely manage to get a perfect coat on my bottom lashes as well.
It is a very black and creamy mascara. I’d say it takes a few seconds to dry up completely – not really the quickest drying one. I find the formula a bit gloopy and does not really separate my lashes nicely. Plus I don’t find it very volumizing or lengthening as well. It does add a nice curl to the lashes and lives up to its claim of ‘eye opening’. But I am really not impressed this one. There are so many better mascaras out there that perform better than this. I find it extremely difficult to use and I am always left underwhelmed with the results.
It has never caused any irritation to my eyes. But I notice a bit of flaking with a long day wear. It does not make your lashed crunchy or hard. So that’s a good point always.
Adore the packaging but not the mascara. Would not recommend it.

Very dissapointed with the eye opening mascara as well. I have been using Bobbi brown products for about 15 years now and this is the first product I am not happy with. So wish that they could change it for another mascara with a smaller or sleeker brush. Paid a lot for it.
