Skin type: sensitive, combination, acne prone, tends to dry in winters
Today, I am here to share my views about Bobbi Brown Skin Clarifier No. 75 – Pore and Oil Control. It’s a skin clarifying treatment that claims to balance oil levels and clarify pores. Read on to know whether this claim holds true in my case.
Formulated for blemish-prone and pore-clogged skin, this potent blend of purifying and nutrient-rich oils helps balance sebum levels and increase cell turnover to clarify and unclog pores. The result is a more balanced complexion with less shine and fewer visible pores.
– Cleans out pores
– Controls sebum
– Normalized cell turnover
– Gently exfoliates and refines skin
– Balances skin
– Creates a healthy skin environment
How to Use:
Apply 2-3 drops on clean skin twice a day. Follow with your customized Bobbi Brown skincare regimen. Layer over Skin Reviver and under Skin Relief to treat reactive, problem skin.
Manuka oil: known to be a strong skin purifier, this oil comes from a shrub native to New Zealand.
Sea buckthorn oil: derived from a shrub found in Asia and Europe that is low on the comedogenic scale.
Roseship oil: extracted from seeds of the rose bushes found in Chile, this oil is known to be rich in nutrients.
Saw palmetto oil: found in the berries of the palm like palmetto, this oil helps to control sebum levels.
The skin clarifier treatment comes packaged in a glass bottle with a black coloured screw open cap. The bottle has a dropper attached, too. This bottle comes packaged in a white coloured cardboard box. The packaging can be termed travel-friendly if carried in the cardboard box provided.
My Experience with Bobbi Brown Skin Clarifier No. 75 – Pore and Oil Control:
All my life, starting from teenage, I have had acne issues, which has resulted in scars and marks on my facial skin. I also have open pores and blemishes on my facial skin. However, in the last six years, my acne problem had completely vanished. However, recently any kind of negligence results in breakouts. Hence, I decided to buy this Bobbi Brown Skin Clarifier No. 75 – Pore and Oil Control, which claims to de-clog the pores, clarify the skin and maintain oil balance without stripping the skin.
It’s a yellow coloured, oil textured treatment. After application my skin does not feel greasy or tacky. As mentioned, two to three drops are enough. It works gradually – no instant miracles or results. It can be applied under moisturisers, primers, makeup, foundations or just by itself during the night. I have used it under products which tend to clog my pores and this treatment has protected my skin and avoided clogging.
I have also applied this treatment on my face when I had breakouts and it did not worsen them, but then it didn’t instantly heal them either. The usual two-three day’s time is required to heal. It does not dry or irritate my sensitive skin. Initially, I used to apply this treatment oil at night time after cleansing my facial skin and could easily skip applying moisturiser. However, as the weather has changed for good, I have to make sure I use a moisturiser above this skin-clarifying treatment. Otherwise, it tends to make my sensitive skin dry, which anyway tends to dry during autumn and winters.
In my opinion, this treatment helps de-clog the pores, helps heal acne to some extent, prevents blemishes, balances oil levels, helps tone skin and promotes a healthy skin. In short, it is more of a preventive treatment as far as acne and blemishes are concerned. Since the weather has changed, I am using this treatment on and off, not on a regular basis.
In my opinion, it is suitable for normal, oily, combination skin types; dry skin types can use it with a moisturiser, however, very dry and hypersensitive skin types can skip this skin clarifier. This is my personal opinion, which definitely can vary from person to person depending on their skin texture.
