I bought this shade just because I loved “Goa Magnolia” from this range. This shade “Nairobi Camellia” seemed like a very pretty n*de pink color, and here’s how it fared.
Introducing this season’s hottest lip-colour trend, Matte Lip Liquid. Specially formulated to glide on effortlessly like a gloss and set with the rich creamy colour and velvety touch of matte lipstick. Available in 12 shades, our new liquid lipstick is long-lasting, lightweight and lusciously soft. And like all our cruelty-free make-up, it’s vegetarian too.
My Experience with The Body Shop Matte Lip Liquid Nairobi Camellia:
The Body Shop Matte Liquid Lipstick is a pretty affordable range that’s available in India. You get a lot of shades in India but not many shades could impress me. “Goa Magnolia” impressed me a lot and that’s why I picked up another one, “Nairobi Camellia.” It comes in a pretty n*de pink color-coded packaging. The cap is matte, which signifies the matte collection. The wand is slim and facilitates precise application.
“Nairobi Camellia” is a lovely n*de pink shade. It suits my skin tone quite well and will work for most fair to medium skin tones. I think it will wash out dusky skin tones. The shade is not very pigmented and cannot hide pigmentation perfectly. It does impart a perfect finish in just one swipe. I need to go over and over to even out the lipstick on my lips, but the sad part is that layering makes it patchy and crumbly.
The finish is velvet matte and the lipstick feels very comfortable on the lips. It is very lightweight and has a creamy texture. It does not dry out the lips but then it is not hydrating either. Even the brand recommends to prep the lips before application. So, apply exfoliate and moisturise your lips before the application of this liquid lipstick.
The staying power is pretty average for this shade primarily because it is a light shade. It lasts 3-4 hours with snacks and it keeps fading throughout. It disappears completely after 4 hours and then a reapplication or touch-up is required.
Overall, I like this range but I am not a fan of this range. The texture is not even across the range and this one definitely doesn’t impress much. I mostly wear this range at night time when fine lines etc., are not visible under artificial lighting. 😉
