Some of us who are the lucky ones in this world, will have a lovely beach shack getaway a few hours away from the hustle and bustle, or that beautiful forest hut in the middle of the rainforest. But I’m sure we aren’t as lucky as most celebrities out there!
Let’s face it, everyone needs a holiday house, a location to get away, relax, un-wind and rejuvenate. And one of the best reasons for a celebrity to want to get away is, the harassment of the paparazzi’s. We tend to think it would be cool getting photographed all the time but at the end of the day I could imagine after a while it would get very tiresome. So a perfect place to get away for a celebrity would be their own island, or a four story beach house along the Caribbean. Perfect!
So let’s have a look at some of the amazing places, our celebrities are getting away to, some are too shocking to imagine is even possible.
Let’s start with the ever most successful, charming, attractive, Johnny Depp. Now this Pirates Of The Caribbean star doesn’t just own a holiday house, he owns his own island. Little Hall’s Pon Clay in the Caribbean, is as Depp explains, “it is as pure and beautiful as it gets” Situated 60miles of Nassau, this amazing getaway is only accessible by seaplane, boat or helicopter, and boosts six white sandy beaches, a private harbor and a palm tree-fringed lagoon. Bliss….
Not only does he own his own island, he also recently splashed out and brought Palazzo Dona Sanglantoffetti in Venice, worth 8.58million pounds. This stunning holiday house over looks the grand canal and is situated in the Santa Croce area in Venice. Sources say after his love for Venice, this house was a must for himself, his French singer/actress Vanessa Paradis and their two children.
Now to one of Hollywood’s “IT” couple, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. They seem to love South Of France that much, that they now have their own holiday house. Worth 45million pounds, this French chateau is no less than 35 bedrooms set in a 1,000 acre estate. It boosts a vineyard, lake, moat, forest and 20 fountains. Indoor and outdoor pools, her and his gym’s, a banquet hall, ponies for the children and when you thought that wasn’t enough, it’s a 3 mile long driveway. This fabulous getaway is called Chateau Miraval and lets just face it, its not to shabby for a quick getaway house.
Located in a tiny village call Brignol in the Var, it is any families dream. And with neighbors such as Bono and The Beckhams, I sure know id be running out of sugar pretty quick. 🙂
Now for celebrities that crave peace and quiet, then Richard Branson’s privately owned Necker Island is their number one retreat. Necker Island is situated in the British Virgin Islands surrounded by the sparkling blue Caribbean sea. Sir Richard Branson, who is the Virgin Atlantic owner purchased this previously uninhabited island between Tortola and Anegada in the 70’s. He has slowly developed several residences in addition to the main house, an airy Balinese Villa, this is a place that promotes a real elegance and lifestyle of the rich and famous. Prices for this amazing holiday getaway start from $53,000 per night….WOW…. Completely encircled by coral reefs this luxury getaway has beautiful sandy beaches, panoramic hillsides, and a warm tropical feeling, that anyone would adour.
Lastly a top celebrity with an amazing holiday home is Mick Jagger. The Rolling Stones star owns this very historic mansion in Chelsea. Jagger has a very extensive property portfolio, including a castle in the south of France, an estate on the Caribbean Island of Mustique and now this holiday home. This 10 million Chelsea mansion overlooking the river Thames from Knight Frank is for himself and his girlfriend. This piece of history dates back centuries to 1674. This beautiful old English getaway is perfect for him and his girlfriend on long trips to London.
So at the end of the day, every-one needs a holiday. Yet we may not own our own Island or mansion in Paris, but a get away from home is all that is needed. But c’mon celebrity’s do have the life, some of these getaway homes would be amazing to just get away to, relax and un-wind.. Hopefully one day we will be as lucky.
