Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Lip Color La Fascinate Review, FOTD
With my Chanel makeup purchase, I got this sample kit of the newly launched Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Lip Color. I thought I wouldn’t be able to use these little samples more than twice but to my surprise, these give quite a few number of applications. I am almost done using 2 of the 4 colors so far. So thought I’d review before tossing out the package.
The original packaging is exact same as the Rouge Allure lipsticks :
Price : Rs 2,000
The 4 shades in the sample lip palette are :
- 38 La Fascinate : A deep neutral toned red
- 37 L’Exuberante- : A hot fuchsia pink
- 34: L raffinee: Mauve pink
- 32 La Ravissante : Orangey peach
La Fascinate is that red lipstick that I wore at the store the very first day and stepped out without any hesitation. I have worn it during the bright day and in evenings for dinners. It is not one of my most comfortable reds but it is one of those that is bright enough but not like a hot bold “attacking” red. I see this color working on a lot of skin tones.
Now these Rouge Allure velvet lipsticks are awesome – texture, staying power, comfort, and pigmentation. It is a complete package.
Texture : These are full on pigmented lipsticks. One swipe of color is all your need if you have thin lips like me. These glide on easily on your lips. They are not very creamy to apply but more like a light sainty lipsticks. They feel ultra light on lips. At no point of time you’d feel that you have anything on your lips. These are not hydrating but not drying either. So comfortable to wear. However if you have chapped lips, do apply a lip balm underneath.
Staying Power : 6-7+ hours on me. It’s almost like the Estee Lauder Pire Color lipstick that I reviewed a few days back. The color survives the full meals, talking, snacks. After almost 3 hours the color looks more like a stain on your lips.
Finish : These have matte- satiny finish. These are not ultra matte but these ate not shiny either. Almsot like a velvetty matte.
They never ever settle in fine lines or smudge or smear. I have never felt the need to wear a lip pencil underneath this red lipstick. It goes on easily and sets on your lips like a stain. Once set, does not move.
Almost 80% non transferable. So many times I have intentionally pressed my lips against the glass how the color transfers on the rim of the glass. It barely transfers. 😀
The colors are quite buildable. If you feel the need to re-apply one full layer of color on your lips , you can easily do that and the lipstick wouldn’t look cakey.
And this is how La Fascinate 38 looks on me.
These are awesome lipsticks. I don’t know what not to like in these. If you like shiny lipsticks, these may not be for you. Out of the total 8 shades 6 have been launched in India as yet. I am definitely picking up atleast one (in its full glory 😛 )of these.
