I just bought myself a luxury Chanel No.5 Velvet Body Cream and honestly, I am loving it *happy dance* I had been longing to buy something from Chanel, so I also bought this N°5 Parfum Bottle. I already have Coco Mademoiselle, another one of Chanel fragrances. These have already been reviewed on IMBB before 🙂
I fetched them from the Chanel Store at the Imperial Hotel.
The description provided on the box reads as: Rich, velvety cream glides on luxuriously to hydrate, soften and scent. Skin is deliciously smooth, irresistibly touchable and delicately fragranced.

My Experience with Chanel No.5 Velvet Body Cream:
The velvet cream is thick and best suited for dry skin or winters for all skin types. The fragrance is a mix of jasmine and rose-exotic. I smell every bit of the N°5 Perfume. It is heavenly. The cream comes in a glass jar, its very heavy in fact. No spatula provided whatsoever. The jar is difficult to open at times if my hands are greasy. Sometimes, the cream spills from the lid and makes it messy, but I still love every bit of it since I smell of Chanel all day.
I use it immediately after my bath, apply this luxuriously and top it with the perfume on the pulse points. Done for the day! A word of caution for the sensitive noses, it may cause slight sensitivity if over done.
The perfume and the body cream have mild fragrance, some may find it way too mild and not strong enough compared to others, but that is what Chanel is about, less is more! I re-call this statement made by a very wise man once: “All good things in life are free; the second best are very expensive.” – Coco Chanel
The N°5 Velvet Body Cream is priced at Rs. 4000 for 50 gm, phew and the perfume is almost the double, but it’s a pre-birthday gift to me 😀
Another tip here would be to use the Cream and Perfume combination for night parties or during winters as it has warm notes to it.
Pros of Chanel No.5 Velvet Body Cream:
- Suitable for dry skin.
- Amazing fragrance.
- Easy to use.
- No melting off.
- Worth every penny.
Cons of Chanel No.5 Velvet Body Cream:
- Not suitable for oily skin.
- Some may find the mild fragrance not very overwhelming, but over doing it may cause sensitivity to the nose.
- The jar is too heavy, and I always have to wipe off the lid for taking off extra cream.
- Not a travel-friendly jar.
