Claims : Velvet Matte Lip Colour, an opulent colour and soft touch feel, with non-drying comfort.
For Christian Louboutin, a designer and creator of rare objects, lipstick is a woman’s magic wand. No longer tucked away between the key ring and the nail file, the Louboutin Lip colour transforms a forgotten object into a treasured jewel.
Inspired by Middle Eastern antiquities and the Art Deco movement, the solid metal body is reminiscent of a precious vial. The turret-like crown cap is topped with a small ring threaded with a silk ribbon, turning the lip colour into a necklace.

My Experience with Christian Louboutin Velvet Matte Lipstick Survivita, Zoulou
I picked up a couple of Louboutin Lipsticks this time around. And I also made sure to pick up various textures from the range. Today I am reviewing the Velvet Matte Lipsticks. The two shades I picked up are
Survivita 420M : It is a very unique bright pink based red.
Zoulou 715M : Zoloulou is a gorrrgeous warm brown color with yellow undertones. I don’t have any other brown like this in my collection and I absolutely love this lipstick. 🙂
Let’s start with the grrrgeous packaging. It’s a whole lot os frill and drama to the packaging. And when you say a ‘Luxury Lipstick’, Christian Louboutin quite literally made every bit of it.The SA at the counter said that these are all hand made and it takes quite a while to make each case. The velvet matte lipsticks come packed in these gorgeous black boxes with velvet red interiors. Since these are matte lipsticks, the cases have a matte gold finish to them. They also come with these ribbons so that you can use these lipsticks as necklaces. Well! I would never do that but you could. The cover of the lipstick almost looks like a crown. They also come with little net covers that you can use while carrying the lipstick. That would prevent the lipstick from getting scratches. As much as I LOVE the packaging, I don’t like that these can’t stand on their own. I mean they are difficult to store and with the weight they are not the best to carry around as well. But they are sooo stunning, you do want to carry them around with you all the times and flaunt them. lol! Also, if you have more than one Louboutin Lipstick it would be hard to reach out for a particular shade because all of them have the exact same packaging. So You would have to open the lipstick and check the shade.
Coming to the texture of the lipstick, it is such a beautiful velvetty matte finish. They have got their formula and finish so bang on that not only it looks stunning, you would really love what you get as a product. It goes on smoothly on lips. Honestly when I saw the lipsticks in the tube, I felt that these could be a bit drying, they are not at all drying. They feel smooth on lips, they are very pigmented. One swipe gives almost 80% color deposit and another swipe gives an opaque coverage. They transfer minimal. They don’t settle in fine lines. They do not feather or bleed. I have worn both these lipsticks and both of them have stayed around 6+ hours on me with a soft stain behind. But if I have a full on Indian meal (read panner tikka 😛 ) they’d disappear completely. But I’d still say that these have an impressive staying power. I don’t find them either hydrating or drying but they feel very comfortable on lips. Also they don’t look cakey or thick when you apply these on. These have those old classic lipstick fragrance to them but it is not strong or bothersome.
Honestly, I could really go on and on about who stunning these lipsticks are. I really am not sold on the hype some products have but these totally live up to all the hype. Them being expensive, I would still recommend that you have atleast one of these in your collection. Treat yourself! 🙂
