Today, I will be reviewing City Color Be Matte Lipstick in the shade Brianda. I have been loving the shade range offered by this brand, and decided to pick up a few products from this range. My Experience with City Color Brianda Be Matte Lipstick:
The lipstick comes in a cuboid packaging with a transparent cap. The body of the lipstick is quite chic; it is matte black and has the brand name on it along with the shade name. The shade is also indicated on the bottom of the tube. The transparent cap makes it easy to spot the colour among other lipsticks. The lipstick bullet twists down completely, which ensures mess-free application. The cap closes down completely with a click, so that you know it won’t come open if placed in your bag.
The shade is a pure brick red colour, the kind of red that will suit all skin tones. It has warm brown undertones. The lipstick formulation is slightly creamy matte, contrary to the description. Nevertheless, it is more on the matte side, which I like.
I find it slightly difficult to apply it on my lips as I have thin lips. It takes more than one swipe to get the lip lines sharp. It does not swipe smoothly, and it took me time to get used to the application of this lip product. In a single swipe, the pigmentation is opaque and not patchy. Before applying this lipstick, I prefer to exfoliate and moisturize my lips as this may enhance the dry cracks in the lips.
Coming to the longevity of the product, the pigmentation pretty much stays on for a good five to six hours. Only when I eat something oily does the lipstick fade a bit from the centre. Because I wear a lip balm underneath, my lips do not dry out as much. I usually do not feel the need to reapply this lipstick. Removing this matte lipstick is surprisingly easy as well. I use a lip makeup remover to remove the lipstick, and it does not leave behind any stains. Overall, I am very happy with this lipstick.

Yes, if this brand is accessible, I would definitely recommend that you pick up a couple of shades. It is not too expensive either. The shade range is amazing as every skin tone can find the perfect red for them. I would repurchase this shade once it is over and if I don’t find any other brand with the same shade.
