City Color Highlight Trio – Collection 1 Review

Namaste to all charming beauties!!!
I love using a highlighter on my face because it instantly adds a glow to my otherwise dull face and gives sort of luminosity to my skin. I have tried several highlighters in the past and have loved most of them. The product in this review is the most recent one I dabbled with and it displayed promising performance. Below is my experience with this product.

My Take on City Color Highlight Trio – Collection 1:

This is a never before used brand for me and I am rather happy with the price and performance of this product. I liked it so much that I am contemplating purchasing more products from this brand.

Packaging: It is a slim palette with three slots and has three different shades of highlighters in each slot. It has clear lid which makes identification easier; it is really slim and perfect for travel purposes and even though it does not come with a brush or built-in mirror, I still love the packaging.

Texture: It is a powder product set in a compact form but it does not have over-the-top shimmer or gritty particles which fly all over the place and makes the face appear grimy rather than dewy. It is easy to pick up in a brush, easy to build up and easy to blend with my blush and bronzer.

Color: It provides three shades and each is meant for cool, warm or neutral undertones. First shade is golden shade which looks good on my warm skin tone, the center shade is a pale buff color which can look good on most of us and the last shade is pink with silver shimmer which is obviously for cool undertone beauties.

Product efficacy: One can use it to get a very natural tint or can go all out to get that bling, appropriate for special occasions with million flashbulbs illuminating our face. A single sweep will give a subtle sheen which appears very natural and appealing; upon multiple sweeps one can intensify the sheen. It is also very easy to blend, just with the help of finger tips. The product is really good for those who are new to the concept of highlighting and contouring.

Price: For the amount, effect and price of this product, it is totally worth $9; also it is travel friendly and can be used with equal ease by dark, fair and medium skin tone beauties.
I really like such budget beauty hacks. It’s ok to shell out tons of money once in a while to indulge in some luxury but otherwise I personally never see the point in buying super expensive products when the same effect can be achieved with drugstore brands. After all, I am an Indian and thrifty and proud about it!
