Clinique A Different Nail Enamel in Happy Review

Hello Lovely Ladies,

I am bringing to you another nail enamel from Clinique. I reviewed “Hi Sweetie” for you earlier. This one’s named “Happy.” With names like Sweetie and Happy, my hubby was asking me if Clinique is a Punjabi brand now? With those product names, it could well be! So, let’s see how Happy did happy make me feel 😛

My Experience with Clinique A Different Nail Enamel in Happy:

As I mentioned in my previous review of the shade “Hi Sweetie,” the nail paint is safe for sensitive skin and eyes, and it’s ophthalmologist tested. Considering that we touch our eyes on an average about 200 times a day – which can easily irritate sensitive skin and eyes, it’s great to have a product which is safe for the eyes and skin.

Brush: Brush is a little thin but easy to use. It picks up enough product for smoothly covering the nails.

Color: The shade “Happy” is a coral red, again fairly bright, but not really neon. The hands look bright and girly – it is that kind of a colour. It is a more summery shade, but that won’t really stop me from wearing it at every opportunity I can because I love my corals.  By the way, I picked up another coral lipstick today from Estee Lauder. I know, I should have picked up a plummy fall shade instead. Don’t worry, I picked up a fall shade too!! 😉 Reviews will be up soon!

Texture: The texture is creamy gel-like with a nice glossy finish which stays put. I mention this because I have seen nail paints which look all glossy initially, but the shine wears off in a day leaving behind a dull-looking colour. This is not the case with the Clinique nail enamel.  It dries pretty fast, you don’t really have to hang/hand around waiting for it to dry.

Pigmentation: Pigmentation is good – one coat is decent. However, you do need two coats to get the full coverage and the correct pop of colour. Two coats gives you the shade in the bottle.

Lasting Power:  The product lasted about 3 days on me before showing signs of chipping. I know nail paints can go 5-7 days without chipping. I don’t experience that much because my hands go through a lot of wear and tear daily. No, I don’t do mopping and stuff, but I do have 2 kids at home, so their upkeep does take a toll on the hands (and the mind!!!…whatever is left of it after pregnancy!)

To sum this up for you:

Pros of Clinique A Different Nail Enamel in Happy:

  • A beautiful summery color.
  • Lightweight texture – gel like.
  • Good pigmentation, opaque in two swipes.
  • Lasts for 3 days before showing first signs of chipping.
  • Nice packaging.
  • Safe for sensitive skin and eyes.
  • Ophthalmologist tested.
  • Dries quickly.
  • Fragrance free.

Cons of Clinique A Different Nail Enamel in Happy:

  • Nothing at all.

IMBB Rating:

5/5 product.

Am I happy with the nail paint and would I recommend it?

Yes, the quality is definitely there.

Would I Repurchase Clinique A Different Nail Enamel in Happy?

I will put it this way, while I enjoyed my sojourn in the nail enamel arena with these, now I’m on the lookout for more unique, complex, darker shades. There is one shade I’m really liking in Estee Lauder, let’s see when I take the plunge 😛
