I got this as part of my haul for Diwali from IMBB. I was seriously keen on trying out new things from Clinique and was very happy to try a new brush, a matte lipstick which I will review soon. Then, this blush was something new from them, I thought I have enough lipsticks, so why not try a new product.I am regretting buying this one, as I could have invested this huge amount on a brush which would last me forever.
I am not at all into chubby sticks of any sorts. This looked huge and the color looked like a warm plum which would be flattering for Indian skin tones. This simply did not seem right from the moment I swatched it.I was hoping for some nice pigmentation,if not crazy pigmentation.I know blushes have to be subtle so they would swatch and apply subtly as well. But the sheer nature of the blush stick quite disappointed me.
The blush color is a warm plum and it has these maroon tones to it.I thought this would be my natural blush color but I was wrong. This looks like my cheeks hurt or something.I have more of pinker and redder blush tones when I exercise, this did not match it in anyway. I also think the color is dark for my skin tone.
Being sheer makes it hard for me to work with. This needs some work on the cheeks, I apply it at 4-5 points gently and then blend it out.I was happy it is not at all over the top but blending it out almost vanished the product. Then under brighter light, I noticed the color, it did not do justice to my skin tone .I have medium to fair pinker toned cheeks,I think this color will work for darker and more warm skin without any yellow tones to the skin.It has not caused any breakouts, it feels mild on the skin.
The blush, despite being a cream blush, barely lasted on me for 4 hours.I have oily to combination skin and I was hoping this would leave a beautiful stain. Blending it out makes it patchy and uneven, and on oily skin, it fades and dissolves in 4 hours. So yes, I don’t know what I should sing in praise of this blusher which is mighty expensive.
This comes in a cute stick, which rolls up a very tiny amount of blusher as compared to the packaging it comes in.I think it is overpriced. So, try to use the tester and blend it out once you are in the store, try to let it stay for a while, when you shop.Come back and check it, before spending this amount on the blush.I would have loved to buy an Inglot cream blush instead.
