I discovered Coastal Scents in USA, and couldn’t be happier. I have heard great things about their brushes and eyeshadow palettes, so I am quite excited to try out a few products from the brand. My first tryst with the brand is this liquid eyeliner. So, let’s quickly jump to the review of Coastal Scents Liquid Eyeliner in the shade “Plum.”

My Experience with Coastal Scents Liquid Eyeliner Plum:
Packaging: I adore the cute little tub. It comes in a tiny rosy-plum colored, slightly elongated pot with a tapering cap containing the liner applicator. The pot is super easy to carry, cap closes tightly and is extremely lightweight. It is housed in a classy black cardboard box with the brand name and product printed in stylish fonts.
Before anything else, let me describe the color. It is a beautiful mauve or light plum color. If you expect a rich burgundy plum shade, don’t get this. It is a pearly light plum color with a distinct sheen and it looks gorgeous; especially if you have fair to medium skin colors, it would look stunning. I feel the shade is light so it might be very close to a few skin tones and may not show up as effectively. But nonetheless, it is a pretty shade, which can even be worn to work, without looking inappropriate.
The liquid liner has a thick liquid texture, but the thin small applicator helps in drawing strokes well. I won’t say it gives the most effective precise thin lines, but I find it okay enough. The pigmentation is good, but I prefer two-three strokes for more opacity as the color doesn’t show up well in one stroke on my medium fair skin tone.
It doesn’t irritate eyes or cause stinging. It is smudge-proof, doesn’t flake or give you colored pockets on rubbing your eyes. It stays for quite long, I have worn it for 9-10 hours with minimal fading and no creasing. I wear it above a primer, but without a primer, it looked fresh for at least 7 hours. It is quite water-resistant, so it didn’t get removed with multiple splashes of water and I had to use cleansing wipe or cotton with makeup remover to wipe it off. It comes off only with good remover, so avoid repeated harsh swipes with a not-so-efficient remover.

- Smudge-proof, doesn’t crease or smear with rubbing.

- Applicator is good for drawing strokes.
Cons of Coastal Scents Liquid Eyeliner Plum:
- Availability in India.
- Color might not show up well on all skin tones.
- Cannot draw absolutely thin precise lines.
Would I Repurchase/Recommend Coastal Scents Liquid Eyeliner Plum?
I am loving using it, and would definitely recommend it, especially for fair to medium skin tones.
