My Experience with Colorbar Color-matic Eyeshadow Pen Hot Coal 008:
The pen comes housed in a silver unit carton which had the details on it. The pen is plastic and black in color with the screw cap which has the actual pigment. It is see-through so you can see the color. It is pretty travel-friendly because of its size.
The applicator is a sponge tip one which I am not a very big fan of, as it fails to evenly apply the product. “Hot Coal” is a nice warm chocolate brown color. It would suit fair skin tones better as it wouldn’t show up much on deeper skin.
The texture is smooth and nice, but the applicator fails to give out an even application making it look cakey and patchy. The pigmentation is also pretty low but it is buildable somehow. I really like the shade otherwise. In order to build the pigment, you need to dip in the cap multiple times, because it is way too sheer. So the problem is that it tends to remove the first layer of the pigment if you try to build it up, so there is no point. And there is no other way to use it other than with the sponge tip.
Also, I don’t think it would be easy to blend it with other colors at all. I have found a better use of this product by using it to fill my brows. It works really well for that purpose so it did not go waste. At the end of the day, it is a dud as it failed to do its intended job. I like the ‘innovative’ idea which is apt for lazy bums like me but sadly it did not click.

With such a heavy price tag for a teeny quantity, it does not even do what it is intended to. There are far better products in the market so this one can be an easy skip.
