How are you guys doing? I had an awesome weekend! As I am not going to be there with my husband during my birthday, he decided to take me out for a pre-birthday party. We had lots of yummy food and then he had booked a spa session for me, which was like the cherry on the cake. I went for a very relaxing body massage in Jiva Spa and after the massage, I felt like I have a new body, which felt so light and relaxed. That was an awesome experience, this was really the best gift he gave me till now 😀 Coming to today’s tutorial. I am born quite hairless 😛 I mean I do not have thick hair on my hands and legs (which is good for me) and even on eyebrows (which is not so good). Because of that, there are lots of gaps in my eyebrows. Whenever I wear eye makeup, my light eyebrow does not let the makeup stand out. For that matter, always with good eye makeup, nicely filled eyebrows are a must, else it looks kind of incomplete. But filling eyebrows properly is also important; otherwise it looks very made-up and odd. I have learnt the proper way of filling eyebrows with time and practice and so I thought it will be nice if I can share the same with you all.
So, let’s get started:
- Black/ brown cream or powder eye shadow.
- Eyebrow pencil.
- Concealer and powder.
- Flat brush, angular brush, mascara brush.
Using an angular brush, fill the eyebrows using eyebrow filling powder or cream or powder eye shadow. Use the color which is close to your real eyebrow color. The thing to take care while filling eyebrow is, always use strokes in the the direction of hair growth and don’t start from the start of eyebrows. There, we usually have lesser hair and the direction of hair growth is straight up. So, start from somewhere in the middle and follow the direction of hair growth till the end. In the end, whatever product is remaining on the brush, use that to fill the start of eyebrows.
Using the eyebrow pencil of the same shade, line the top and bottom of the eyebrows. Again, line in small strokes and follow the natural shape of the eyebrow.
Using a clean mascara wand, go over the eyebrows to brush out any harsh line. If you want, you can also follow up with a brow gel, which will keep hair in place and your brow will be in perfect shape throughout the day. If you do not have a brow gel, then spray a small amount of hair spray on the brush and comb your eyebrows with it, this works equally well as a eyebrow gel.
Now, it’s time to give the finishing touch using a concealer. Line the top and bottom of the eyebrow with a concealer. Be careful to not put this on top of the brow as that will mess up everything. So, go just adjacent to the eyebrows.
Using a flat brush or concealer brush, blend the concealer properly. Now, top it up with some powder if required. Make sure this is blended properly and the whole face looks even toned.
That’s all, you have properly filled and defined eyebrows ready.
I have attached a picture of mine, with eyeliner on both eyes but only one eyebrow is filled and defined. You can make out the difference yourself and understand how much the impact of properly filled eyebrow has on the whole look.
I hope this tutorial was helpful for all the girls who are not blessed with thick eyebrows like me, or people who have bought brow filling kits but struggling to use it. Do follow these steps to get perfectly defined eyebrows.
