I am generally happy these days.:D May be because the seasons are changing. Well, not technically here in “Chennai”, but that doesn’t stop me from enjoying some good breeze and some great shopping. As a matter of fact, I got this shadow from Pune, where i happened to discover the Colorbar Exclusive store. Heaven for a makeup lover who knows she could buy things on display unlike the MAC store for me. 😛 Well, Inglot store stands somewhere in between.

I love neutral shadows with a little bit of glam to it. What i mean is there should be some amount of pearl or metallic finish to it for me to wear it. I don’t think plain matte neutral shade do anything for me. Hence, I picked this one up. The display in the store was so tempting and usually Colorbar shadows available easily are numbered. There may be five or six of them around. But in flagship stores, there are a lot to chose from . I picked up three, two out of which are neutral shades. I will be reviewing the other two very soon.

About the product:

This shadow has a lovely name. The shade is a very pretty soft light brown with pearl finish. There is no obvious shimmer to  it unless you spread it. The powder is very finely milled and there is absolutely no fall out on this one. The texture is so soft and smooth, almost satin like. it glides on so easily when you swipe it across. The catch is that you need a base for this color to show up well. Otherwise, I think, my eyelid tends to drink it up. 😛 But when you use it on a base, you can contrast it with a beautiful deeper taupe or even a brown for a natural look.

On its own, the staying power is not so impressive since the shadow is so satin soft. On the base, it would last me 4 hours easily. I love the finish of this shadow, just the exact pearl and sheen one I like!

The packaging is the regular Colorbar one, round with two levels. A silly curved sponge-tip applicator which is ever-so-difficult to use. Honestly, even my shadow brush eats up a lot of this product, so, if you dab it on with a fingertip and pack it on well, it should do you good.

Last word:

Over all, its a great everyday wear color. Wear it over some base to prolong the wear as it is too satiny soft on it  own.I am definitely recommending this one if you can get your hands on some one who visits a Colorbar Exclusive Store frequently. There are loads of colors to chose from, in that case.
