Hello beautiful ladies,
Today I will be sharing a colorful product from Colorbar. Colorbar has launched some makeup tools in bright colors which include its pink and red bristled brushes. But today it’s not a brush; I will be talking about colorbar’s square foundation sponges. Colorbar offers foundation sponges in two shapes: regular triangular shaped sponges and square shaped sponges. Before getting these I was using triangular sponges from Basicare, but when I saw these I was naturally attracted to them due to the colors. I selected the square shape as already had triangular ones.
Product quantity: 8 PCS
Price: INR 350
Packaging: These sponges come in a plastic packaging which is transparent from the top and has a black base. They have a stick on type packaging which secures the remaining sponges once the plastic packaging is cut from top in order to take out a sponge.
8 bright sponge squares that effortlessly blend powder, mousse, cream and liquid foundations with smooth, streak-free precision.
• Sponge texture designed to press and evenly distribute each layer of your makeup, covering all angles of fine lines, pores, and uneven surfaces.
• The square design allows for maximum usage of corners and angles.
• Works beautifully with wet or dry product application, and helps to achieve that important step for flawless diffusion.
My take on Colorbar Fair & Square Foundation Sponges:
When I thought of buying it, I found them a little pricey (Rs. 350 for just 8 sponges is high), but as the colors attracted me I brought them. I do not regret buying them; firstly because I use sponges more than my foundation brush to apply my foundation and secondly due to the quality they offered. The sponges come in 3 colors: pink, red and orange. The sponge has a soft surface which helps to give smooth finish to the foundation. I have tried both cream and liquid foundation with this and it works well with both, but it is little better with liquid foundation. Square shapes helps in giving better coverage in one stroke, its ends can be used for under eye areas or around the nose, and it mainly helps in reducing the application time.
I used the sponge for one week and then washed it with a mild shampoo. I didn’t bother much about which shampoo to use as there was no fear of losing the bristles (like we have in brushes). Colorbar sponges are different in texture than the basicare wedges, the basicare ones were good until I washed them 2-3 times, after which the sponge started shedding. I have washed my colorbar ones twice and I haven’t seen any such problem with them yet. After washing the sponge I kept it on a tissue to dry, and when I observed it after 3-4 hours, the sponge was curved, I thought that I wasted my money and now it will be difficult to apply foundation with this curved sponge, but when I saw it next morning (once it was completely dry), it regained its natural shape.
Pros of Colorbar Fair & Square Foundation Sponges:
• Comes in 3 beautiful colors
• Reduces the application time due to large surface area
• Gives a smooth application, without creating any lines
• Works well with both liquid and cream foundation (I actually sometimes apply my BB creams and sunscreen with this sponge)
• Blends the product well
Cons of Colorbar Fair & Square Foundation Sponges:
• A little pricy as compared to some other sponges (but I hope they will have a better life than others)
Would I buy Colorbar Fair & Square Foundation Sponges again?
I think yes, I will buy them again. I love the way they blends the foundation and saves my time. I would also like to try the triangular ones from the same range, just to check whether they have similar quality and texture or is it something different.
Do I recommend Colorbar Fair & Square Foundation Sponges?
If you are comfortable in spending 350 bucks for makeup sponges, then it is a must have. They do their work well and help your vanity look colorful and pretty.
