Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick in Honey Dew Review

Thank you so much for your lovely words in my previous post on DIY Homemade Natural Shampoo.  So, getting back to today’s review, its one of my very first lipsticks which I bought from Colorbar.  Colorbar Matte Velvet Lipstick in Honey Dew.

I got this lipstick while I was going through the brown lipstick phase about a year back. Honey Dew is a gorgeous peachy-pinky-brown with subtle golden shimmers.

Its a drop-dead gorgeous shade, especially for fairer skin tones. It comes in the standard Colorbar packaging with shade name and number mentioned at the bottom. Also, the lipstick case has the shade showing through the bottom and I really prefer such packaging.

I prefer wearing this shade during day time as the subtle golden shimmer in this lipstick really makes my lips alive.  Also,  its a perfect shade to be worn during day time weddings if you are a fan of peachy brown shades. This particular shade will suit fair to medium skin tones.  I would not recommend this shade for duskier skin tones. The texture of this lipstick is highly creamy and does not come out matte at all as the name mentions it. Even though the name says velvet matte, it does not try out my lips.

The pigmentation is good as all Colorbar Velvet Matte range lipsticks.  One swipe is enough to get that color on your lips. The staying power again is good and it stays on me for 4 to 5 hours after which I need to re-apply it. This shade does not stain a lot, a bit yes, but I don’t have much issues with it. I have naturally pink lips with not much pigmentation, so one swipe works well for me. If you have highly-pigmented lips, you may require more than one swipe. The gold shimmer is very subtle and does not look over the top at all. Also, once the lipstick fades away, there are no visible shimmer particles left behind which is a big plus for me!

• Does not stain a lot.
• Easily available across all Colorbar counters and online as well.
• Perfect shade for day time party or wedding.
• Packaging is sturdy.
• No shimmer is left behind on the lips.
• The texture and finish is glossy and not matte at all.

Cons of Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick in Honey Dew:

• This shade may not suit duskier skin tones.

Yes, if you like peachy brown shades with golden finish to it, then definitely check it out. Colorbar has a huge range of shades and I am sure there is a color for everyone.
