Hi all,

I have with a brand new lip color from Colourpop which was collaborated with Instagram model Alexis Ren. There are a lot of new textures and shades in this range and this one (Blotted Lip) particularly is unique because it’s sheer but matte, which is quite contradictory. I got all three of the bottled lip shades – Déjà vu, Exotic and Lexi. Today, I would be reviewing “Lexi,” which is described as a cool-toned red.

My Experience with ColourPop Lexi Blotted Lip:

Packaging: This lip color comes in a black cardboard box which has the shade name and other details on it. The lip color is a black plastic tube with twist mechanism, just like any other regular lipstick.

The entire range of “Blotted Lip” was highly anticipated and advertised on a mass scale and it is a huge hit now! I got all the three shades because they looked so nice in the advertisements and I had to get them since I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed with the quality and price of Colourpop.

This blotted lip is a sheer matte product that can be used to add just a swipe of color and can also be built up to create a more intense look.

“Lexi” has been described as a cool-toned red by the brand. The lip color is more like a lip balm that goes matte and adds a nice red color to the lips. I was a bit skeptical about picking up a cool-toned red because I feel warm red lip colors look much better on my skin tone. When I first applied it on my lips, I had first prepped it up because they were dry and flaky due to the super cold weather. I just swiped it once to see how it would look on me – it was pretty sheer and I was unable to see much color on the lips.

The lipstick bullet is a bit dry, but once I started applying, the warmth of the lips makes it easier to spread on the lips. I have to say one thing – it’s extremely comfortable and hydrating as I have worn it for hours and never felt any dryness. It almost feels like a lip balm, but much better.

Multiple layering doesn’t make it look bad either – so you can use this to go from a daytime red lip to a “party, evening kind of a red lip” easily. I was not sure about wearing a red lip color during the daytime, but Lexi by ColourPop is on another level.

The comfort, ease of use, as well as affordability makes it a stellar lip product to have. The lipstick has no smell or taste to it and wears evenly for 3-4 hours and fades evenly. It does get transferred to cups and glasses a bit and oily foods can break it down completely and I need to reapply.

Overall, I am very happy with the product with such a nice, comfortable, matte and sheer lipstick that can be worn just as a stain or a more intense look…it’s a real multi-tasker.
