ColourPop recently released lipsticks in traditional lipstick formulas and have named them “Lux” lipstick. The lux lipsticks are supposed to have a luxurious, comfortable, creamy matte formula and beautiful rose gold metal packaging. I purchased the shades “Lay Over” and “Ghosted.” In this post, I am reviewing the shade “Lay Over.”

My Experience with ColourPop Lux Lipstick Lay Over:
Packaging: The packaging of the ColourPop Lux lipstick is luxurious. The lipstick comes in a beautiful metal rose gold packaging with small gold stars all over it. The lipstick tube has a little weight to it. There’s a color-coded sticker at the bottom of the lipstick tube which also specifies the name “Lay Over.” The lipstick comes in a white cardboard outer packaging with ingredient list mentioned on it. The bullet of the lipstick also has stars embossed on it. Overall, the packaging is very luxurious, sturdy and travel friendly.
Shade and Finish: “Lay Over” is described as a ‘medium rosy beige’ and it is indeed a beautiful, warm, light pinkish-brown shade. This shade is a good dupe for MAC Velvet Teddy. This lipstick is a perfect everyday shade. This shade will suit all skin tones. “Lay Over” is very comfortable to wear. The finish is very creamy matte and the lipstick glides on the lips easily.
Texture and Application: The texture of this lipstick is creamy matte. The lipstick has got intense pigmentation. It feels very lightweight on the lips. The lipstick is infused with acai, jojoba and pomegranate seed butters. It gives lot of nourishment to my dry lips. The lipstick is very easy to apply. I use a lip liner and then fill in the lipstick with the help of a lip brush. Due to its creamy texture, the lipstick does smear outside the lips very easily. The lipstick gives a plump and fuller look to my lips. It has a faint vanilla scent to it, which is not overpowering.
Pigmentation and Coverage: The lipstick is super pigmented and super opaque. It gives full coverage even if the lips are pigmented.
Staying Power: The staying power is really good with lipstick. It stays on my lips for good 3 to 4 hours. However, it will start to fade easily if you eat meals or drink water. Overall, I am really happy with this lipstick. The lipstick can be easily removed with a makeup remover.
