Hi Everyone,

Highlighters are one of my favourite makeup products. I have so many highlighters in my collection, still I am always on the quest to find out more. Today, I have another ColourPop highlighter in the shade “Monster.” So, let’s see how this product fared.

Price:
$8.00 USD for 4.2 gm.
Product Description:
The cute light pink with highly opalescent duo chrome finish – version. This long-wearing crème powder cheek formula is the BFF of our infamous Super Shock Shadow; it shares the shadows unique buoyant texture and feels super silky. Cheeks will look healthy and flawless!

Application Tips: Fingertip application will provide the highest amount of coverage, and for a sheerer look, we suggest using a flat synthetic cheek/foundation brush or a duo fiber brush. A flat synthetic brush will give more coverage and the duo fiber brush will give a more air brushed effect. Colour builds from natural to intense, build to your heart’s desire! Close that sucker up tight! Don’t leave the jar opened for long periods of time. You may lose some of the magic that makes the Super Shock Cheek Pearlized so amazing.

My Experience with ColourPop Monster Super Shock Cheek Highlighter:

Packaging: The packaging is a pretty standard compact with holographic writing on the top saying – ColourPop which fades away in time. The packaging is similar to their eyeshadow packaging but a little bit bigger. The bottom of the compact specifies the name “Monster.” The product comes in a white cardboard box with the name of the product.

Texture and Application: The texture of the highlighter is in between a creamy and powdery consistency. Fingertips will provide the highest amount of coverage. You can then blend it out using a synthetic brush for an air-brushed effect. If you want a more intense look, then use the highlighter once you have set your face with a facial mist. This method gives a more intense look and allows the highlighter to stick to your skin and allows it stay for a longer period of time. Since this highlighter is not super pigmented, you can use a heavy hand during application.

Pigmentation and Coverage: The highlighter is not super pigmented. You do have to build it up to get a full opacity. If your goal is to get a natural glow, then you are in the right place.

Shade and Finish: ColourPop Monster is such a unique highlighter. The shade of the highlighter is described on the website as a light pink with highly opalescent duochrome finish and it is indeed a duo chrome highlighter. When you first look at the highlighter in the compact it looks white and in some angles it looks light pink. When you apply the highlighter on the cheeks, it gives you a beautiful baby pink sheen at some angles and silvery white sheen in other. The glitter in this highlight is finely milled and does not show once it has been blended. There is no fall out.

“Monster” is a perfect highlighter for fair to medium Indian skin tones. This highlighter did not emphasise any pores or fine lines on my skin. The highlighter can be used on tops of the cheekbones, bridge of the nose and corner of the eyes to give a pink luminous glow.
