Skin tone: light to medium with cool undertones
Colourpop is a very sought after brand in the US market and I’d been hearing about the brand for quite a long time. So, this season I spent a whopping amount and ordered an assortment of lipsticks from Colourpop. I look forward to reviewing all of them soon. This particular collection called Hello Kitty was launched towards the end of last year. This inexpensive and cheerful collection is as adorable as it sounds, and the products are simply a blend of innovation. Today I’m reviewing my favourite shade from my ColourPop stock, Date Mate.

My Experience with ColourPop x Hello Kitty Date Mate Lippie Stix:
Packaging:
Colourpop X Hello Kitty Lippie Stixs have such an adorable girly packaging. They come in a blue box and the primary packaging is white in color. The cap has cute Hello Kitty logos all over the packaging. The lipstick rolls open and looks like a crayon.
Shade:
It is a very bright fuchsia color with cool undertone. The color looks best on fair to medium skin tones. It might not look good on darker skin tones, in my opinion.
Texture and Pigmentation:
The texture is very lightweight and creamy. Despite being a matte lip color it doesn’t feel cakey even if you layer on a few extra swipes. The color is amazingly pigmented and gives a completely opaque finish in just one swipe.
Fragrance:
This is the only lipstick in my stock which is fragrance-free and has a bit rubber-like smell, which isn’t very noticeable. I’m a fragrance lover, so the smell bothers me a bit.
Performance:
I was evoked to buy this product for simply two reasons: lovable packaging and reasonable price. It is hard to look beyond this gorgeous stick. When I used it for the first time, I was surprised with its ultimate velvety and transfer-resistant formula.
It is certainly one of the best in my collection. It feels very soft and blends gracefully on my lips. The color is very bright pinky-purple shade and I’m really happy with the color payoff. The pigmentation is amazing and this shade gives my lips a fuller-looking appearance.
Being more on the darker side, I avoid using it as my everyday lip color. Also, the staying power is excellent and the lips are enveloped in the incomparable comfort for continuous 7 hours. It doesn’t fade away after one meal but requires reapplication after two meals.
Coming to the pros and cons now:

• Very bold and vivid pink colour
• A single swipe gives full coverage
• The lipstick doesn’t budge or transfer
• Long wearing formula
• Almost 7 hours of staying power
• Feels very light on the lips
• Doesn’t leave marks on coffee cups 😛
• Affordable
Cons of ColourPop x Hello Kitty Date Mate Lippie Stix:
• This lippie has rubber-like fragrance
• Not available in India, although one can order online
