Today, I am here with a DIY sugar body scrub recipe. It is easy to make and provides skin with many benefits. Let’s get into the details.
Ingredients and their Benefits:
Sugar is a natural source of glycolic acid, which is considered to be one of best alpha hydroxyl acids. It helps in exfoliating the skin and reveals a radiant and clear skin. Sugar-based scrubs provide hydration to the skin as well. Sugar works as both physical and chemical exfoliant and makes skin softer, smoother and radiant. It effectively sloughs off the dead skin cells, thus preventing pores from getting clogged. Hence, it polishes the skin perfectly and makes it brighter in no time.
Coconut oil is a dry skin nourisher. It seeps deeply into the pores and provides hydration from within. Thus, coconut oil prevents flaky and dry skin. It works as a gentle cleanser and helps in flushing out the dirt and grime from the skin effectively. Coconut oil also exfoliates the skin and removes the dead skin cells. So basically, coconut oil in scrubs helps in getting a hydrated, nourished and vibrant skin.
Ginger contains around 40 antioxidants that help in improving and maintaining the wellness of the skin. Antioxidants neutralise the free radicals that are responsible for skin damage. Also, antioxidants boost collagen production which helps in maintaining the elasticity of the skin. They reduce the appearance of scars and blemishes as well. When ginger is used topically, it improves complexion with its toning effects and reduces the pore size as well. When ginger is used as an exfoliating agent, it scrounges off the dirt, grime, excess sebum and toxins out of the skin. Thus, ginger helps in making skin soft, radiant and even-toned. It invigorates the senses and makes you feel refreshed as well.
How to Make:
Take half cup of sugar. I have taken white sugar but you may use brown sugar as well. If you intend to use this scrub on your face, then grind the sugar.
Add 2 to 3 tablespoons of coconut oil to the sugar. Give it a good mix.
Add 1 tablespoon full of grated ginger to the sugar and coconut oil mixture. Mix all the ingredients well.
How to Use:
Take some scrub in your hand and massage your skin with it in circular motion. Scrub for a few minutes and then rinse it off with water.
This body scrub refreshes skin, making it relaxed. Like every other body scrub, it sloughs off the dead skin cells, making skin clear and radiant. It also helps in getting rid of dry and flaky skin effectively. The antioxidants present in ginger rejuvenate the skin. It tones the skin and helps in fading scars as well. This body scrub also boosts the blood circulation, providing you with softer, smoother and radiant skin.
Make sure you do a patch test to check if these ingredients suit your skin well. Do not use this scrub if you’re allergic to any of these ingredients.
