Recently, I hauled a bunch of skin care stuff from Herbivore Botanicals which is a fairly new brand of Sephora. It claims to be mostly natural, which is the one feature that drew me to this brand. I have had quite good luck with all the products I own from this brand and would surely love to get more. This review will be on the Herbivore Coco Rose Coconut Oil Body Polish.

A gentle, sugar-based body exfoliant that hydrates skin with virgin coconut oil. Coco Rose Coconut Oil Body Polish is a highly moisturizing and gently exfoliating blend of virgin coconut oil and delicately floral Bulgarian rose absolute. It leaves skin silky soft and hydrated with a light scent of coconut and rose petals. It is formulated without parabens, sulfates, and phthalates. This product contains absolutely no artificial ingredients, fillers, alcohol, animal ingredients, fragrances, artificial colors, or unnatural preservatives. Each ingredient is included for a therapeutic reason. No animal testing is conducted on Herbivore’s products or ingredients.
My Experience with Herbivore Coco Rose Coconut Oil Body Polish:
This product comes in a sturdy plastic jar. This scrub is a very granulated scrub. You can clearly see the sugar particles in it and the base of it is a smooth “no greasy” oil. I am very impressed with the all-natural list of ingredients which makes you feel good that the things you are putting on yourself will not be harmful. I use this scrub once a week. I use this in the shower on slightly damp skin. There is a fine balance to achieve, too wet and the sugar particles will dissolve instantly not giving you enough scrub and not damp enough will over exfoliate and irritate your skin. I find that on slightly damp skin, it works marvelously. It gives me enough time to do slight exfoliation, not too much before the sugar melts and coats my skin in a layer of not too slippery oil. I do one part of my body at a time.

The oil base is neither too greasy nor slippery and I haven’t had any problem with it making my bathroom floor slippery and hazardous. The oil rinses off easily under lukewarm water and leaves behind no film on the skin which I have to clear with a second round of soap on.
My skin feels silky smooth every time I use this scrub. There is no dryness at all and my skin has a natural moisturized sheen. I can’t help but do a little modeling in front of the mirror like those ladies in TV commercials 😛
This scrub is great for my dry skin even during this hot summer climate and I suppose I will love it even more during the winter months. For those with oily skin who tend to get greasy I would not recommend this due to its oil base.
This scrub has never irritated my skin in any way. I use it after shaving and my skin feels ultra-smooth.

Overall, this is one of the best body scrubs I have used. The amazing results it leaves on my body is quite addictive and I find myself reaching for it more and more, though I do try to restrict my use to 1-2 times per week. I highly recommend this body scrub.
