Wishing you all a belated Happy Diwali and a prosperous New Year from my side. 🙂
I was away lately due to the Fashion Designing assignments I was working on. Finally got a Diwali break, so thought of writing some reviews.
Seriously, who said Fashion was easy? The assignments are so lengthy, that I now have dark circles under my eyes! 🙁 I seriously wonder how my tailor stitches my clothes in just one day. Hats off to him!
Coming to today’s product, it is a body wash from Dove. After looking at all those milky and creamy body wash reviews from you people, I finally thought of picking one as soon as I spotted it.
Price: INR 290 for 250 ml.
Product Description as given on the Dove Website:
An explosion of freshness that truly nourishes the skin. A waterfall of sparkling bubbles and fruity freshness on your skin. The sparkling, fruity scent of nectarine and white ginger. The sensation of fresh softness on your skin. Enriched with our revolutionary Nutrium Moisture , to nourish your skin deep for a beautiful skin.
My Experience with Dove Go Fresh Shower Gel in Nectarine and White Ginger:
Winters are coming up and what could be better than a hot bath accompanied with a very moisturising shower gel? I picked this up without thinking any further as Dove body washes work quite well.
The body wash comes in a white bottle along with orange scripts and cap which resembles the nectarine colour. The bottle is pretty big, so might go on till a month or so.
Rather than calling it a shower gel, I would call it a shower cream, as it does not come in a gel form. The texture of the wash is pretty thick and that is why it is great for winters. The shower cream is a peach-ish yellow colour and resembles a yummy mango milkshake.
The fragrance is the USP of this product. It smells heavenly when taking a bath. The fragrance is an invigorating citrusy one, which smells like a freshly cut peach along with a perfumed hint. The fragrance is also a little milky, but mostly like peaches and oranges. The smell doesn’t stay around later, but lingers only when you are taking a bath.
A very small quantity is needed for a single use. It works best with a loofah or an ex-foliating glove. Without the loofah it will not lather much and may not even clean the skin properly. The skin is very nicely moisturised and all the dryness goes away. I do not need to apply a moisturiser, but people with dry skin may need that. It does not leave any greasy film behind on the skin. The skin is beautifully clean and brightened, with all the dirt washed away.
It actually makes me feel fresh because the fragrance and along with the milky texture, it gives a very nice feel. It does hydrate and moisturise the skin, but do not expect any extraordinary results like extremely smooth skin or something. It does a normal job of cleaning the skin and providing the needed moisture. So nothing that great but no regrets too.
Pros of Dove Go Fresh Shower Gel in Nectarine and White Ginger:
- The shower gel is thick and creamy which is useful for winters.
- Dove generally works great on everyone’s skin and this works in a similar way too.
- The quantity is good enough for a month’s time.
- The fragrance is heavenly with a citrusy burst of peaches and oranges with a perfumed hint.
- The product is very moisturising for my skin and I do not need a moisturiser after this.
- It cleans my skin very well and leaves no greasy film behind.
- It brightens the skin for a while and makes it smooth and soft for a few hours.
- It gives a very fresh feel when taking bath and relaxes the body.
Cons of Dove Go Fresh Shower Gel in Nectarine and White Ginger:
- Not widely available in India.
- Not that moisturising as expected; worked well for my oily skin but dry skinned people may find it less moisturising.
- Little expensive, as compared to other shower gels.
Will I Recommend/ Repurchase Dove Go Fresh Shower Gel in Nectarine and White Ginger?
Yes I definitely will! Because I am so in love with the scent and texture. I have not really used such milky body washes, so I am having a good time with it. If you spot it, then do try – it is a nice body wash with satisfying results.
Dove always says that milk and moisturisation is the USP, but are they really that moisturising? What do you guys have to say about that? It worked very well for me, but yes, the shower gels from other brands are equally great that way.
