So today, I am going to be reviewing for you another product and it’s Dove’s Purely Pampering Nourishing Lotion with Shea Butter and Warm Vanilla. Prior to this, I was using Nivea’s Extra Whitening Body lotion, which I purchased on my trip to Mumbai. But I was highly disappointed with it, I will even forget that the “whitening” claim did not have any truth to it, but it stripped my skin off its moisture and I was left with really dry skin on my arms and legs. I was forced to switch to another body lotion, since I needed to restore my skin’s moisture. I purchased this body lotion on Friday as a matter of fact, along with a body wash that I will be reviewing later. So, here’s what I thought about this product.
£ 2.66 for 250 ml.
Dove Purely Pampering lotion deeply nourishes and softens your skin thanks to its rich blend of nourishing cream with shea butter. Its comforting and creamy fragrance of warm vanilla leaves you feeling balanced. This dermatologically tested lotion, is suitable for all skin types and features DeepCare Complex which includes skin natural nutrients and rich essential oil to deeply nourish skin.
My Experience with Dove Purely Pampering Nourishing Lotion – Shea Butter and Warm Vanilla:
This particular lotion is from Doves new range called “Purely Pampering.” I have always been an ardent fan of all things created by Dove, its probably my pure blind faith in their products or sheer habit, but I always end up purchasing my skin products from this promising brand. And to be totally honest with you guys, I have not been disappointed one percent by this particular product by Dove as well. It definitely has lived up to its brand image and has generated more faith in their brand.
The packaging of this product comes in a clean white bottle, with their standard logo and picture of the particular fragrance you have purchased. I personally am fond of the unique design of the bottle, it is a bit different to the previous bottles they have had in the past. The bottle comes with a flip cover and I need to squeeze the product out, it’s a bit similar to the Vaseline lotion bottles. However unlike some of the Vaseline lotions, this lotion is not runny. It is of a thick consistency and is white in colour. Despite its thick formula, it is so smooth when applied on the skin and is easily absorbed by the skin and does not leave any sticky or white residue on the skin. That’s how easily it glides on to the skin and does not leave your skin feeling greasy and yet leaving the skin deeply nourished and moisturised. It was really hot yesterday in London actually and I wore this lotion after showering and I did not feel greasy AT ALL. Due to this particular quality of this lotion, of it being so lightweight, it can be used both during winters as well as summer.
It truly nourished my skin from within, my legs and arms start feeling itchy if not moisturised well, but after I used this for the first time, my skin felt so calm, so smooth and soft to touch. I felt as though it was completely hydrated from within. I felt no irritation on my skin as I did with Nivea and my skin was moisturised. Moreover, I totally adore its fragrance! I have applied many creams consisting of shea butter as their ingredient, one of them being L’Occitane, but none of them had the same effect on me as this particular lotion has. I am going to admit, I keep smelling my hands after I have applied this lotion because it is just so good. It has hints of vanilla amid the strong smell of shea. I felt as though I had just received a treatment in an expensive spa after I used this lotion! Yes! It is SOOO amazing.
Overall, I am really pleased with the outcome of this lotion! So much that I would consider it as good as Aveeno (and that is saying a lot). And I would definitely be trying out other fragrances from the same range in the future.
