Whenever I saw these Elf chubby shadow sticks I would ignore them mostly because of my prejudice against Elf essential range; not that I have anything against it but somehow I found it not worth my money and would not give this range a second glance, but this time I decided to overcome my skepticism and buy some of the products. I am glad I decided to try this range but this particular product is not a win –win.

This creamy and pigmented rich Jumbo Eye shadow Stick is perfect for creating a natural or smoky eye shadow look. Infused with nourishing Vitamin E to condition the delicate eye area. The twist up component and smooth glide formula is easy to use for on-the-go beauty. All colors, except Like A Boss, have a shimmer finish.
My take on Elf Essential Jumbo Eye Shadow Stick in Midnight Rendezvous :
Shadow sticks are very handy and easy to use for beginners. When I am in rush I don’t find myself reaching for palettes or quads but just a cream shadow or liner which I can apply easily on my lids and smudge out. At times I use them as Kohl or eye liners to keep things interesting and use some other color on my water line instead of good old black. This product, in similar manner, can be used in several ways and just for $2 one gets to put one product to multiple uses.
Packaging: it is a chubby shadow stick with a twist up mechanism. It has a clear cap and outer covering has the name of the product written on it.
Texture: it is very creamy but it smudges and smears easily; but is easy to apply on lids without much tugging or pulling, however, if one wants a smoky look or a more blended look then one has to work fast since it settles in a matter of seconds and does not budge after that.
Color: dark gunmetal grey with silver sparkle.
Pigmentation: very good pigmentation. I gently swiped it on my palm and it gave a good color pay off. Two swipes are enough to get an intense eye look. A normal blending brush or finger tips are enough to get desired color but on darker lids it might not be so obvious, so for darker skin tone beauties it is advisable to conceal the darkness and may be apply a darker shade underneath to make this shadow more apparent. It can be used as an eye shadow base and increase wear time of not so good eye shadows.
Wear time: few hours after which it creases or vanishes and leaves excessive sparkle behind. The wear time is not very impressive and perhaps the only down side of it.
Conclusion: it claims to be water proof, smudge proof and tear proof but it is not; but it does give good color payoff.
