Elf Studio HD Blush Headliner and Shimmering facial Whip Pink Lemonade

Hello gals!

Today I am reviewing Elf HD blush and shimmering facial whip. I had heard so much about these blushes and that they are said to be a dupe of the famous Makeup forever HD blushes, so finally I got a chance to lay my hands on this one. And also it’s a very famous shimmering facial whip.

Elf Studio HD Blush Headliner

$ 3 for 0.34 fl.oz (10ml)

My Experience with Elf Studio HD Blush Headliner:

The blush comes in a tiny transparent plastic bottle with a pump dispenser and a cap on it. The cap shuts tightly and is travel friendly. One has to be careful while pressing the pump or else a lot of product gets dispensed. But when used very evenhandedly, very little product required for a single use is dispensed. It comes in five shades, the shade I have is headliner which is the lightest of all, and it is a muted baby pink color with micro silver shimmer in it. It is definitely a cool toned blush it instantly perks up dull complexions. The shimmer is very tiny and does not exaggerate pores, instead gives a soft and subtle glow. It will work best on fair to medium skin tones. It might look slightly ashy on darker skin tones.

It is insanely pigmented; a tiny dot is all you need to cover both cheeks. The texture is smooth neither too thick nor runny, and blends into the skin instantly almost like second skin and feels very light on skin. But before removing product, it is essential to shake the bottle lightly. The best thing about this blush is that it looks so natural. The finish is just natural looking neither too matte nor dewy. The application is little messy and tricky though. At first I applied it with my fingers and it looked patchy. Finally the best application way is with a stipple brush, I take a tiny amount on back of my hands spread it with fingers and then stipple the brush in the product and apply on face, this way I do not end up looking like a clown and get an even blended look . If you are planning on getting these blushes also buy the small stipple brush from Elf, as without that the application is not the best. It dries very quickly and stays put for whole day, I have worn it for 8 hours and did not budge on my oily skin. It is water resistant as you need to remove it with a good makeup remover or else it can stain. In all it is a good blush, not the best to work with for beginners.

Elf Essential Shimmering facial whip Pink Lemonade:

My Experience with Elf Essential Shimmering facial whip Pink Lemonade:

The whip comes in a small squeeze tube, with a small nozzle and screw up lid. The tube is really tiny. The whip inside is of light pink color with tiny shimmer particles, very little amount is required. Spreading it is quite easy, once spreaded it looks more like a nude pink and imparts glow on skin. It is not oily at all, and therefore suitable for oily skin. There is not much color payoff, it looks pink only in the beginning but once blended, there is no color payoff but it imparts a glow, so you do not need to worry if it will show up as a pink highlighter.

It is a multipurpose product, it can be used as a highlighter for cheek bones, brow bones on the face, and it can also be used on entire face before foundation application, or can also be mixed with foundation to make it look more dewy. It looks very natural compared to powder highlighters as it gets blended into the skin really well. It is not overly shimmery, imparts just the right amount of glow. It lasts for 7-8 hours on my combination skin. Only a tiny amount is required for each use or else you can look like a disco ball. It works best with fingers, as it gets blended quite easily, and if you have dry skin you can also mix slightly in your moisturizer.

It has many uses and given the price, it works quite well, if you get a chance do try it.

  3. Dhara, I have the same HD blush in same shade….yet to try….heard its very pigmented and tricky to use…..need to learn the art and will open mine today only….

  4. Nice review Dhara. 🙂 I had the ELF HD Blush in Diva and it was such a beautiful vibrant color. But I found it hard to blend, even with a stippling brush…guess because I tend to apply my blushes in a hurry. Tempted to try that Facial Whip! It’s so pink and pretty.

  5. i have olive skin and i think the color of the ELF headlines is absolutely beautiful. However, I am sort of new to makeup and find that the pigment is so intense in the ELD HD blush that it comes off looking tacky. But then again, maybe i am just not applying it appropriately.
